Officers say they tried to use stun guns on Blake but could still not take him into custody.Blake had previously told officers he had a knife in his vehicle. At one point during the altercation, as Blake approached his car, Officer Rusten Sheskey shot Blake in the back at least seven times. A knife was later found on the floorboard of the car.Blake is still hospitalized and is paralyzed from the waist down. The Girl Scouts of the USA revealed on Tuesday that a French-toast inspired cookie is coming in 2021.In a press release, the organization said the "Toast-Yay!" cookie, which is "dipped in delicious icing and full of flavor in every bite," will be available in select areas sometime next year.In March, due to the coronavirus pandemic, the organization switched to online sales.According to the release, the 2021 cookie season will again turn to sell cookies online and through "virtual cookie booths" on social media."Many girls will offer socially distant or contactless sales and delivery options," the Girl Scouts said in the release. The former Minneapolis police officer charged with killing George Floyd and three other officers accused of aiding and abetting in his death are scheduled to appear in court on Monday.Derek Chauvin is facing a second-degree murder charge for pinning Floyd to the ground and pressing his knee down on his neck. Floyd pleaded that he couldn't breathe, but Chauvin continued to press down for nearly eight minutes, according to bystander video.Two autopsies were performed and both ruled the death a homicide, although there were differences in what caused Floyd's death.The three other officers, J. Alexander Kueng, Thomas Lane and Tou Thao, will also appear in court Monday. Keung, Lane and Thao will appear in person, while Chauvin will appear via video conference.Their appearances are scheduled to take place around midday on Monday. Hennepin County Judge Peter Cahill has ruled that cameras cannot be present in the courtroom for pretrial hearings, though it remains to be seen if cameras will be allowed in the courtroom during the trial itself.Floyd's death prompted worldwide protests against police brutality and systemic racism. 1144
