SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — A San Diego-area man and his grandmother filed a federal lawsuit against two San Diego County Sheriff's Deputies.The lawsuit alleges deputies responded to the wrong address and pulled a then-17-year-old out of his apartment. "I've never experienced something like that," said Cesar Jaramillo.Jaramillo says last October he was watching TV on the couch when he heard a knock at the door. He says deputies asked if someone from the residence called 911.According to his lawsuit, "Cesar informed defendants the call was not from his residence. When defendants asked Cesar if there was a young black female in the apartment, Cesar said 'No,' and informed defendants that they were at the wrong apartment building. Cesar knew who defendants were referencing and knew they lived in the other building. Cesar informed the deputies over half-a-dozen times that defendants were at the wrong building."Jaramillo tells 10News he complied with everything the deputies asked but felt like they didn't believe him."That's when I started closing the wide door, that's when he just reached in and grabbed my hand," Jaramillo said.The lawsuit claims, "Without warrant or probable cause, both defendants unreasonably lured Cesar to unlock and open the door, then entered into Plaintiff's residence and forcibly pulled Cesar by the forearms into submission, leaving instant bruises on both arms."Jaramillo's grandmother was in the back of the house at the time and said she woke up to the commotion."I saw my grandson laying on the ground, in handcuffs and I went crazy, and I said, what is happening," said Teodora Villalobos.According to the lawsuit, "Due to unreasonable seizure and force used on her grandson Cesar, as well as defendants' indifferent attitude, Teodora began having heart complications on scene."Jaramillo's lawsuit alleges negligence, battery, and unreasonable search and seizure, among other things.10News reached out to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department for comment, but a spokesperson they can't comment on pending litigation. 2066

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — A water hydrant break Friday flooded a stretch of Midway District road and swallowed a traffic signal.The break was reported on Midway Drive between Sports Arena Boulevard and Kemper Street, according to San Diego police. The stretch of road was closed fdue to flooding.There was no estimated time of restoration.The flooding in the area was so severe, a traffic signal sunk about halfway into the ground.San Diego Fire-Rescue crews were able to shut the water off shortly before 5:30 p.m. 516

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A tiger at an East County animal sanctuary has been killed by another tiger after staff accidentally allowed them to come in contact. ABC10 News confirmed that the surviving tiger is the same one that was rescued from a highly publicized smuggling bust at the border.Bobbi Brink is the founder of Alpine nonprofit Lions Tigers & Bears. She spoke to ABC10 News on Tuesday about Monday's incident where 7-year-old Maverick was attacked by another tiger named Moka in a tragedy of human error. No staff members or visitors were hurt. "It's a terrible accident and it occurred during the daily share that the tigers do every day when they put the tigers separately. Well, they accidentally put them in contact," she told ABC10 News.Moka sustained only a few scratches. He's the same tiger that was first reported on in 2017 when he was rescued from a smuggler at the U.S.-Mexico border. "They found him on the floorboard of somebody's car and he went to the zoo and the zoo couldn't keep him so he came to Lions Tigers & Bears," added Brink.Maverick was rescued in 2014 by California Fish and Wildlife staff after he was born in captivity and purchased illegally by a buyer who wasn't licensed to own an exotic animal.The nonprofit stated that it regularly holds safety trainings including one just last weekend. It plans to extensively review its protocols this week. "The process of caring for these animals doesn't leave any space for error," added Brink.On Tuesday evening, a spokesperson for the nonprofit called to say that the facility remains open. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Activists with 'March Without Borders' are ready to welcome migrants from Central America heading to the United States with the migrant caravan.The supporters began an eight-day march from Los Angeles on April 22 and plan to meet the migrants at the San Ysidro Port of Entry on Sunday.On Saturday they marched throughout San Diego, beginning from Centro Cultural de la Raza in Balboa Park and ending in Chicano Park. Migrants are expected to ask for asylum at the San Ysidro Port of Entry sometime Sunday morning. 546

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - An ash-filled stolen trailer in Miramar contained heartbreak for more than 100 military families in the form of hand-carved model aircraft burned and damaged. Many of the coveted items are simply too far gone from the damages."They are hand-carved, hand-painted and personalized," said John Pineda, who owns Squadron Toys.He says his model aircraft are ordered by service members and veterans - and their loved ones to commemorate service. Many of them are gifts for a retirement or Christmas.Those gifts disappeared overnight, in minutes."We are heartbroken," said Pineda. He showed 10News the surveillance video.Just past 1 a.m. on Nov. 3, a U-Haul truck drives into the parking lot. Five minutes later, you can see it again, this time hauling Pineda's trailer, filled with more than a hundred model aircraft to be shipped out the next morning.The discovery of his trailer missing was followed a week later by a call from the CHP.The trailer was found on fire on a street in Vista. He towed it back Thursday.Pineda looked in the trailer and found about 60 of the models were missing. There were also burned model planes and helicopters.
