Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg had two cancerous nodules removed from her left lung Friday at a New York hospital, the Supreme Court announced. There is no evidence of any remaining disease, says a court spokesperson, nor is there evidence of disease elsewhere in the body. The 85-year-old justice was hospitalized last month after a fall in her office, in which she fractured three ribs.In 1999, Ginsburg underwent surgery for colorectal cancer, and 10 years later she was treated for early stages of pancreatic cancer. The senior-most liberal justice, Ginsburg has said that she'll continue to serve on the Supreme Court as long as she's able to do the job."I said I will do this job as long as I can do it full steam," Ginsburg said Sunday during an interview following a New York City screening of "On the Basis of Sex," a feature film about her years as a young lawyer.Read the full statement from the court:Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg underwent a pulmonary lobectomy today at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. Justice Ginsburg is resting comfortably and is expected to remain in the hospital for a few days. Updates will be provided as they become available. This story is breaking and will be updated. 1799
In the 102 years Alan Tripp has been alive, music has been through a number of revolutions. Born more than three decades before the advent of rock 'n roll, Tripp grew up an era when swing music was king. Joining with his 88-year-old friend Marvin Weisbord, Tripp has just released his first album. The lyrics to his songs came from poems written by Tripp. On his website, Tripp says the music is 40s era music with lyrics written for the 2020s. A point was made that new music has not been released in a long time for those who are now seniors.According to 568
In a setback for Democrats in Congress, a federal appeals court has ruled that judges have no role to play in the subpoena fight between the House of Representatives and the Trump administration over the testimony of high-ranking officials. The decision Friday from a three-judge panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit undoes a lower court ruling that would have forced former White House counsel Donald McGahn to appear before Congress. It is likely to doom efforts to get other high-ranking officials to testify in House investigations of President Donald Trump. 609
JOHNSTOWN, Colo. – After leaving a negative online review, a customer says she was threatened with a lawsuit.Liz Griswold paid for a ghost tour in Denver, but bad weather prevented her from feeling comfortable making the 50-minute drive from Johnstown. She tried to cancel her booking hours before the event, but when she was unable to cancel or receive a refund, she left a review.“My friend and I signed up to go on this tour tonight and could not make it because of the icy roads, snow, 20-degree weather. When they say no refund they mean it. We wasted a total of dollars to sit at home because they refused to cancel the tour,” a screenshot of her review showed. 683
