Walmart employees could soon be getting a little more wiggle room in their work attire.The discount giant is testing a new dress code that would allow workers to wear any solid colored shirt and adds blue to the mix of approved pants colors, making blue jeans work-appropriate attire, a spokesperson said."We are always testing new ideas and concepts in a small number of our stores," spokesperson Justin Rushing said in an emailed statement "Some of these tests are expanded while others are retired. (KGTV) — Vista Unified School District union workers say they are worried their jobs are on the line and say the district could be looking at bankruptcy.Union workers rallied Thursday ahead of a district board meeting over a million budget shortfall. Union President Bill Faust represents 1,400 support staffers at Vista Unified, including custodians, secretaries and food service workers who are concerned for their jobs since those are historically among the first to be cut. Faust says the board approved almost million to add unnecessary 8th periods to two high schools and another 1,000 to fire the district's superintendent two weeks ago. He says the board is spending money it doesn't have."We are concerned. With this board mismanaging funding," Faust said. Jessica Ward, a 6th and 8th-grade teacher at Minerva, was inspired to act after seeing a Facebook post:"Hello. We are teachers in El Paso. We would like to know if anyone is interested in sending us postcards to help our students know there is plenty of good in our world. As teachers, we may only be able to say so much. We think concrete messages of support would help us calm some fears. Any thoughts?"Ward and her more than 160 students got to work, creating letters filled with love, support, funny jokes, and positivity. "I just hope this small little gesture will bring happiness and positivity to their lives," said Ward. "It's just something I like to be open about, so they understand that it's important to talk about. (KGTV) - Solutions for Change is working to combat family homelessness in North County.They've recently opened 33 new apartments in Escondido and are building 33 more affordable housing units in Oceanside.There's a waiting list of around 200 to 300 families to get in the program.
