SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Governor Gavin Newsom is set to visit San Diego Friday in a last-minute push for proposition 13. Newsom will make a stop at Dana Middle School at 8 a.m. as part of his statewide get-out-the-vote tour. Proposition 13 would authorize billion for K-12 schools as well as universities and community colleges. Newsom has said that the bond money would prioritize modernizing schools as opposed to new construction. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Eight new cases of hepatitis A were reported throughout the county over the last week, according to the San Diego County Health Department. In total, 544 cases of hepatitis A have been reported throughout San Diego County. The new numbers come after the Board of Supervisors Monday extended the state of emergency amid the hep A outbreak.  RELATED: Board of Supervisors extends state of emergency for hepatitis A outbreakSince the outbreak began, 20 people have died from the infection. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Firefighters Wednesday battled a trash fire that burned in the same area scorched by the Caliente Fire. The blaze sparked near the 905 and Caliente Avenue, according to crews. It's unclear how the fire may have started, but video from Sky10 showed trash atop a hill on fire.
