(AP) -- Health officials have confirmed a case of plague at South Lake Tahoe -- the first in California in five years.El Dorado County officials said Monday the California Department of Public Health notified them of the positive test of a local resident who is under medical care while recovering at home.Plague bacteria are most often transmitted by fleas that have acquired it from infected squirrels, chipmunks and other wild rodents.Health officials believe the South Tahoe resident may have been bitten by an infected flea while walking a dog along the Truckee River corridor or in the Tahoe Keys area on Tahoe's south shore. 664

CEO Mark Zuckerberg had previously refused to take action against Trump posts suggesting that mail-in ballots will lead to voter fraud. Facebook will also ban false claims intended to discourage voting, such as stories about federal agents checking legal status at polling places. Something you can't see with the naked eye could be the keeping an eye on you in your most private moments.Illegally hidden cameras are getting harder to detect each day.At her request, we have concealed the identity of a Central Florida woman who found a hidden camera installed in a fan sitting on a table in her home."Well right now it's making me very paranoid because I feel like there could be more devices," said the woman.  She is sharing her story to warn others.There are already plenty of other warnings out there in our state as well.In October 2017, a couple found a hidden camera in a smoke detector in their Airbnb room in Longboat Key.In March 2016, a mother said she found a hidden camera in a West Kendall restaurant bathroom.The demand for hidden cameras, and help finding them, keep private investigator Jody Stacy busy at his Delray Beach store."You got to think if they're finding one device, how many did they miss? Again, it's getting cheaper, smaller and more effective," said Stacy.Stacy went on to say, "Pretty much anything can hold a hidden camera. A stuffed animal, a clock, something as small as a phone charger. Finding the camera can be a challenge."The woman in Central Florida felt like someone she knew, knew too much about her private life."I feel like he can hear everything I'm talking about and everything I say," said the woman.She hired a private investigator, who found the camera in a fan.For about one hundred bucks, you can use a handheld device to spot hidden camera lenses and radio frequencies.  Stacy said, "Everything has to have a crystal or a lens in it like the smoke detectors or stuff like that so if you went through it... it would reflect and you'd see like a little red light and it would tell you there's a camera in it." 1814

(KGTV) — Video captured Friday showed another bluff failure in the Solana Beach area, weeks after a series of small bluff collapses.Kelly Nelle captured a small bluff failure at a site that appeared taped off due to a previous bluff collapse. No one was injured.Several parts of Fletcher Cove were taped off in August as sandstone tumbled about 75 feet down to the beach. It isn't clear if Friday's collapse was at the same site, but the area was already taped off and appeared to have a pile of sediment at the base of the cliff side.In late August, Torrey Pines beach goers were warned of bluff collapses after a section fell to the ground. In early August, a massive section of rock fell in Encinitas, killing three people.As temperatures rise and bring more locals out to the coast, officials cautioned visitors to walk 25 - 40 feet away from all bluffs and not to walk around barricades because large rocks could still fall.Video from Friday showed some smaller rocks falling before the larger section fell onto the Solana Beach spot. 1068

PETERSBURG, Fla. — A toddler lovingly known as the "Baby Shark Girl" is making big strides.When WFTS first met Harper Mae Comparin, the then-2-year-old girl born with spina bifida was learning how to walk via a very unique method: the "Baby Shark" song.Her physical therapist at Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital used the syncopation of the love-it-or-hate-it kids jingle to get Harper Mae to move. And it worked.Now, a year and a half later, her team of medical workers and family members continue to use inventive methods to help her deal with complications related to the birth defect in which the spinal cord fails to develop properly.She needed therapy to walk and to talk.Physical therapist assistant Nick Hamilton, who works at Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital, recently helped Harper Mae when she was scared of getting her leg cast sawed off."I'm a big kid, so I fit right in here," Hamilton said.So, he improvised. He made a cast for Harper Mae's Elsa doll. And it worked."Having her baby doll that she carries with her everywhere get a cast just like hers has helped her feel better about it," said mom Erica Comparin.Hamilton says a big part of Harper Mae's therapy is "improvisation."
