CLEVELAND — On Friday, WEWS talked to Len Honacki, a Cleveland man who was waiting on his heart medication after a United States Postal Service delay.“I was a little worried how long I can go without before I call the doctor and say ‘Hey what’s going on and what do I need to do?'” he said.Tracking records show that his medicine had been to Cincinnati, Washington D.C., and Maryland.“The post office had a series of mishaps," he said.When Alicia Rauckhorst, the Northern Ohio marketing manager for USPS, learned of Honacki’s issue, she decided to take matters into her own hands.“Somewhere in there, inadvertently, it got sent to Maryland,” she said. “As soon as it got back, no matter where it was, I was going to let him know.”She called Honacki herself.“She called me just to apologize and she said ‘I will do whatever it takes to find your meds and I would get it to you,’” he said. “When someone says ‘I'll drive to Cincinnati 4 hours and pick it up and bring it 4 hours back.’ To me, I mean, come on, that’s above and beyond.”Luckily, Rauckhorst made sure his meds arrived in Cleveland Saturday night and Sunday morning she made a special delivery.“I went up there and picked up the package called it when I had it in hand and said ‘Hey, I’m on my way to your house to bring you this medicine.’”Honacki was shocked.“She comes to the front door and delivers the mail right to me. (KGTV) San Diego Police Department is investigating a car meet-up that turned into brief reckless driving exhibition in Clairemont.Viewer video shows several cars doing donuts and burnouts for hundreds of spectators at in major shopping center off Balboa Ave from Friday night.The drivers almost hit people trying to film them and almost crash into fences on the property.Those who attended say the meet-up was organized through private social media accounts.“It’s scary because it starts right next to you and it happens with like a flick of a switch,” said one gearhead who wants to remain anonymous to protect his identity.An SDPD officer is shown responding to the incident in the video and appears to be harassed by the crowd.“People were throwing trash at him and there was a lot of middle fingers that were thrown up,” said another car enthusiast who was the event, “I thought the cop was going to get attacked.”The anonymous gearheads say what happened Friday night is not indicative of car culture and they were upset with how people treated the officer.“I’ve been to multiple meets where… we get to look at some nice cars but then there’s meet’s like this that get out a hand and then cause a horrible image for us,” said the anonymous attendee.SDPD has not clarified if any arrests were made during the incident. 1375

Congratulations 747, the “fat and fabulous” winner of Bear Week 2020 at Katmai National Park.Number 747 was up against bear number 32, nicknamed “Chunk,” in the final head-to-head match-up of the just-for-fun tournament.Bear 747 was first identified and tagged by the park in 2004 and, according to Katmai officials, he has grown to be one of the largest bears in the preserve.“When asked what he intends to do now that he has won, the only response was a look before going back to fishing in the Jacuzzi near the Brooks Falls, one of his favorite fishing spots,” park officials said in a press release about the winner.The annual match-up features images of brown bears from around Katmai National Park showing how they have bulked up over the spring and fall ahead of winter hibernation.
