BEIJING, Oct. 18 (Xinhua) -- Canadian Governor General David Johnston said on Friday that Canada and China share opportunities of cooperation on energy, and his country welcomes foreign investment in the sector, including from China.
"As two of largest players in that economy that is not only in our interest, it is our responsibility," De Gucht added.
"[We] welcome more Canadian enterprises to invest in China and hope that the Canadian side will accelerate the pace to approve the China-Canada BIT and create favorable environments for mutual investment to benefit the people of the two countries," said the Chinese premier.
The general objective of the approved reforms is to improve and develop socialism with Chinese characteristics and push on with modernization of the country's governing system and capabilities, according to the communique issued after the session.
China will mark the 10th anniversary of its first manned spaceflight during the seminar. Six Chinese and foreign astronauts will talk to students of Tsinghua University at a sub-forum.
