(AP) -- Former Ku Klux Klan leader David Duke has been banned from Twitter for breaking the social media platform's site's rules.The company said Friday that Duke's account "has been permanently suspended for repeated violations of the Twitter Rules on hateful conduct."It didn't specify what exactly Duke posted that triggered the ban, but it's policy on hateful conduct prohibits promoting violence against people based on religious affiliation, race and ethnic origin.Twitter said the ban was in line with its recently updated policy aimed at cutting down on harmful links. 584

(KGTV) - An El Cajon homeowner knew he had a bee problem but never expected the "massive" hive discovered in his backyard."It's pretty incredible," said Herb Herbert.He first noticed a few bees about two years ago in the back yard of his home on Primrose Drive."The bees were coming in and out of a small hole at the bottom of my shed," said Herbert.The vent hole is one of several that led to open spaces under his shed. Last winter, the bees seemed to go away, but they were back in the summer. Herbert was stung once while mowing the lawn."There were 20 to 30 bees buzzing outside at any time," said Herbert.Herbert had plans for some entertaining in the near future, so last week he hired Bee Nice Wildlife Management. They peeled back the wood flooring in one corner of the shed and discovered a 30-inch long, 70-pound hive, home to between 100,000 and 150,000 honey bees."I had no idea the scope of what was under there. It was massive and amazing. The bee guy said we were lucky, the bees were getting set to expand the hive," said Herbert.As the local bee season gets underway, Herbert calls that possibility mind-boggling. While honeybees are generally not aggressive, they can still be dangerous.The bee removal company was able to relocate the hive and the bees. They say the size of the hive is not an indication of what may lie ahead. Because it's been a slightly above average rainfall, the region is likely in store for a typical bee season. 1482

Women are using Facebook and online merchandise venues to sell well-known cosmetic brands at discount prices, but buyers beware of the bargains.Brittanie Masters, an Arizona mom who's making extra cash by selling makeup online, says she started several months ago and she's made up to 0 in one day by auctioning foundation in a Facebook group. "So I was selling them anywhere from to apiece, but a lot of ladies on the Facebook page are selling for a lot more," Masters said. "Brand new I think they’re ."Masters said women are attracted to the black market to get good deals, but they also risk getting swindled. She explains the products being sold can be counterfeit, previously used, or even pulled from a beauty store's dumpster. So how is it getting from the trash to online marketplaces? Some women are dumpster diving for makeup either for personal use or to sell online."It’s not as crazy to me anymore because people will sell the stuff and make a lot of money, and if something's discontinued they could jack up the price twice the amount of retail for a tester that’s half-full," Masters said.Masters said the best way to check for fake products is to compare with something you purchased from a respected retailer. She recommends looking at the label for misspellings, double-checking product size, and using your nose. Sometimes fake makeup smells like chemicals or cleaning products. 1424

"So I tried it and I really loved it! Like I was like, oh my gosh! My hair feels really good! They have a men's line and a kids' line so the whole family can use it -- like I was very excited!"But Erin Ostby's excitement quickly faded when she says her hair began falling out after using the Monat hair products she'd been selling."I was crying to my husband, not just over my hair, but what had I done?"  She's what Monat calls a Market Partner -- someone who sells their shampoo and other hair care products on the company's multi-level marketing platform, which is mostly through social media.  RELATED: Women claim Monat hair products causing balding, scalp soresBut the young mother had to walk away from an increasingly lucrative business when she says she could no longer stand by the products."I was very nervous to say anything because of the backlash I have seen of other people that spoke out about what was happening."In three recently filed class action lawsuits against Monat, the company is accused of using strong-arm legal tactics to silence critics."We have to do that to protect ourselves from defamation," said Monat spokesperson Gene Grabowski, who would only agree to a phone interview. Toni Miller is one of the stylists Monat is suing for defamation."What I am seeing with this product in particular, it's not normal," Miller observed after working with clients who'd used Monat.Monat claims people like Miller are engaged in a smear campaign designed to promote competing products.  In their suit against her, they report 1,000 order cancellations in the last two months."When we tried to reason with our attackers who were bullying people online, bullying some of our market partners, bullying other customers and ridiculing them for using our product, we had to file a lawsuit to protect ourselves from the attacks," Grabowski said.But Miller says Monat is the bully. The company sent a letter to Posare salon, threatening to sue the owner if she didn't silence Toni or fire her.  As for consumers, Grabowski says, "Everyone is entitled to their opinion. By the way, there is not a constitutional right to complain about a company. A company has a right to respond any way it wants to." The Federal Trade Commission's Consumer Review Fairness Act "Protects consumers' ability to share their honest opinions about a business' products, services or conduct in any forum, including social media."  But that's not enough. This request for a restraining order against Monat was filed March 7 in South Florida, asking a court to protect consumers against Monat's "Threats, harassment and intimidation."Monat says one stylist has agreed to pay them to settle its claims against her.  Miller is still fighting.  Monat sent this statement for consumers: "If a consumer feels that he or she is having a negative reaction to MONAT products, we encourage them to speak with their Market Partner to obtain an intake form.
