BEIJING, Oct. 21 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Foreign Ministry on Thursday confirmed it had started preparations for President Hu Jintao's visit to the United States early next year, which the ministry said would be profound and far-reaching for bilateral ties."China and the United States have maintained close communications about the visit, which will be very important and will bring far-reaching influence for bilateral relations in new era," spokesman Ma Zhaoxu told a regular press briefing.Although Hu's U.S. visit had long been under discussion, it was the first time that China's foreign ministry confirmed the visit and elaborated on its significance.Ma said both China and the United States would like to see a successful visit that will boost the positive, cooperative and comprehensive China-U.S. relationship in the 21st century.At their meeting on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Toronto in June, U.S. President Barack Obama formally invited Hu to pay a state visit to the United States early next year. TOKYO, Aug. 31 (Xinhua) -- Visiting China's special representative on Korean Peninsula affairs Wu Dawei said Tuesday that Beijing plans to put forward fresh measures to resume the stalled six-party talks at an early date.Wu made the comment to reporters after meeting with Japanese Foreign Minister Katsuya Okada, but he did not elaborate on what measures China will propose to bring Pyongyang back to the negotiation, which have been suspended since December 2009.Wu, who chairs the six-party talks involving Democratic People' s Republic of Korea and South Korea, China, Japan, Russia and the United States, said China needs to discuss the proposal with these member states and wants to hear their views about it.The Chinese envoy held talks with Japanese Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshito Sengoku after meeting with Okada.The Japanese side agreed with China that the stability and peace of the Korean Peninsula are in the interest of all parties concerned, and vowed to continue push forward the six-party talks. NANJING, Oct. 4 (Xinhua) - Three months after high school, 18-year-old Wang Mingyuan landed a part-time job in KTK Group, one of China's leading railway components manufacturers, in east China's Jiangsu Province.Unlike other migrant workers, Wang also started a three-year vocational school education at the same time, thanks to the work-study program launched this year by the Jiangsu provincial government.The program offers employment opportunities in high-technology and community-service fields to vocational school students. Currently, Wang works three days of each week in the company and spends another two days as a student, learning computer science and engineering."I felt very depressed about the future when I knew I failed the college entrance exam. BEIJING, Oct. 25 (Xinhua) -- Fire has been put out at the scene of a July 16 blast involving two oil pipelines in Dalian, a port city in northeast China's Liaoning Province, by 2 a.m. Monday, the contingency headquarter said.The contingency headquarter said no crude oil has been found spilled over into the sea, and no ocean pollution has been detected.The fire was caused by the remaining oil in a tank which had been emptied before workers tried to remove it at 4:10 p.m.. No casualties have been reported.The tank, owned by China National Petroleum Corp (CNPC), caught fire on July 16 when two pipelines at Dalian Xingang Harbor exploded.
