PYONGYANG, April 13 (Xinhua) -- Li Jinhua, vice chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), on Monday met with Kim Wan Su, director of the secretariat of the Central Committee of the Democratic Front for the Reunification of the Fatherland (CCDFRF) of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK).     Li, who is heading a CPPCC delegation on a visit to the DPRK, said at the meeting that this year marks the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries, and the visit was also one of the major events of the China-DPRK friendship year. BEIJING, Feb. 18 (Xinhua) -- President Hu Jintao's five-nation "journey of friendship and cooperation" was very successful, Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi said on Wednesday.     The tour, which started on Feb. 10 and ended on Feb. 17, took President Hu to Saudi Arabia, Mali, Senegal, Tanzania and Mauritius. Hu's visit to the five countries in the first month of the Chinese lunar new year was very successful as it fulfilled its goals -- consolidating friendship between China and these countries, boosting cooperation and reinforcing their will to tackle the joint challenges for common development, Yang said. BEIJING, Feb. 27 (Xinhua) -- China's top political advisor said Friday the national advisory body would have to contribute to decisions on major national and global challenges at its annual session next month.     This year would be crucial for the country's development, said Jia Qinglin, chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee.     CPPCC members would "conduct research and give targeted and effective opinions and proposals, to provide the (ruling Communist) Party and the government with reference and data for their decision-making", he told a meeting of the Standing Committee of the CPPCC National Committee. BEIJING, Feb. 9 (Xinhua) -- China will establish a ministry-level joint meeting on the management and supervision of loan guarantee services, according to a circular from the general office of the State Council (cabinet) Monday.     The joint meeting will formulate policies to promote the development of loan guarantee services, set up a management and supervision system for such services and direct local governments to undertake supervision and risk management.     The government ordered local governments to take measures in line with local conditions to ease financing difficulties for small and medium-sized enterprises, the circular said.     Many borrowers in China use the services of guarantors, who charge fees for their participation.     The meeting will make regulations that cover how loan guarantors are established, how much they can lend and how they will be supervised. The regulations should be submitted to the State Council for approval.     The joint meeting is being organized by the China Banking Regulatory Commission, with the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Finance, the People's Bank of China (central bank),the State Administration for Industry and Commerce and the Legislative Affairs Office of the State Council.
