(KGTV) -- A small plane believed to be heading to San Diego crashed in southwest Las Vegas Thursday morning.KTNV, ABC 10News' Scripps sister station in Las Vegas, reported the Clark County Fire Department and Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department responded to reports of a small plane going down at around 9:30 a.m. local time near Raven Avenue and Hinson Street, several miles southwest of the Las Vegas Strip.The plane burst into flames following the crash.The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) told KTNV there were two people in the twin-engine Cessna 310 at the time of the crash. KTVN, citing the Clark County Fire Department (CCFD), reported the two unidentified occupants died.An FAA official told ABC 10News the plane departed North Las Vegas Airport and its end destination was listed as Gillespie Field in San Diego. The plane had reportedly taken off from the North Las Vegas airport at 9:29 a.m. and crashed at 9:38 a.m.CCFD said witnesses reported the plane flying low before hearing a crash after it disappeared from sight.Bruce Langston, who was nearby at the time of the crash, described hearing an "awful" sound and a giant "fireball" when the plane struck the wall of a construction site.The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and FAA are investigating the incident. The discussion brings up a difficult topic and 10News is digging into some of the pros and cons of cremation. Last year, a door was left open at Cortez Cremations in National City, forcing thick, black smoke out of the building. People in San Marcos are worried something similar could happen in their neighborhood. Even though headlines like these are attention-grabbing, there are lots of pros to cremation, according to Security National. Check out some of the pros below: Cremation costs less. According to Security National, an average burial costs between ,000 and ,000, but cremation can be a third of the cost. Cremation can be simpler and quicker. Cremation may be easier for families who live far away when death occurs, allowing memorial services to be postponed until family members can be present. Although there are pros, there are also cons for families weighing their options. (KGTV) -- As more states across the country issue "stay at home" orders and closing down schools to curb the spread of Coronavirus, Virginia police are warning families to keep a closer eye on their children's social media habits.Virginia police investigators say they have identified two teenagers caught in a social media video purportedly coughing on grocery store customers and produce.The Purcellville Police Department said the teens admitted to their involvement in the video, but investigators determined that the teens did not cough or spit on customers nor produce"The investigation concluded the teenagers were getting close to other patrons and coughing into their own sleeves, while filming it on their phones," police said.Due to the age of the minors involved, no names or video footage was released. San Diego County school districts providing free meals to students amid coronavirus-related closuresPurcellville police determined that there was no criminal intent and no actual customers or produce were spit or coughed on directly. (KGTV) – Federal investigators are continuing to look into the backgrounds and motives of the El Paso and Dayton shooting suspects to determine if the shootings were instances of hate crime that may have been inspired by the Poway synagogue shooting.<br /><br />The El Paso shooter was taken into custody after killing at least 20 at a Walmart store on Aug. 3. Investigators said the 21-year-old suspect pulled the trigger just 20 minutes after posting a racist manifesto.<br /> <br />Hours later, police in Dayton shot and killed a man who opened fire at a downtown entertainment district. Multiple people, including the gunman’s sister, died at the hands of the gunman.<br /> <br />Sociologist Dr. Pete Simi studies political extremism and violence at Chapman University. Pretty young."<br /><br />Simi also said the young, tech-savvy generation connects with like-minded people on anonymous online forums like 8chan.<br /> <br />In his manifesto published on 8Chan, the El Paso shooter posted: "In general, I support the Christchurch shooter and his manifesto. This attack is a response to the Hispanic invasion of Texas."<br /><br />Earlier this year, the suspect in the Poway synagogue shooting shared a similar message on 8chan in which he also praised the work of the New Zealand mosque shooter.<br /><br />"In some cases, they talk about is how you could've been more active, or you could've killed more people if they had done X-Y-Z," Simi said. "Or they're discussing the relative merits of this type of violence and pros and cons. It's really a cesspool environment."<br /><br />At this point, the Dayton suspect's motive has not been confirmed. But he too is a young, lone-acting shooter who wore body armor. FBI investigators are now digging into his digital background to find answers.<br /><br />"What may connect them though is there may be some kind of copycat aspect to it," Simi said.<br /><br />In light of the mass shootings, Frederick Brennan, the founder of 8chan, demanded the site be shut down.<br /><br />He said he created the website in 2013 as a free speech forum, but relinquished ownership in 2015. 2826
