LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — The Kentucky attorney general's office says two long-rifle shell casings were found in and near Breonna Taylor's apartment after a police drug raid that left her dead. It's the first time these specific shell casings have been mentioned by authorities investigating Taylor's death in March. One was found inside and the other outside Taylor's apartment. The notice of the two shell casings was filed in former Officer Brett Hankison's wanton endangerment case. Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel says President Donald Trump's personal attorney Rudy Giuliani "embarrassed the state" on Wednesday in a Michigan House Oversight Committee Wednesday night in which he again attempted to overturn the results of the 2020 election in the state.The meeting featured Giuliani questioning witnesses he brought, as well as unverified and false claims regarding election fraud in the city of Detroit.Nessel, a Democrat, said that Republican members of the committee "embarrassed our state and defamed Michigan's most populous city."Nessel also called on Michigan Republican Party Chair Laura Cox to "put up or shut up" and instead take the evidence Republicans say they have of election fraud to her office for investigation.While Trump has been attempting for several weeks to overturn the results of the election citing widespread voter fraud, his legal team has presented little evidence to support his claim.Attorney General Bill Barr, one of Trump's staunchest defenders, said this week that the DOJ uncovered no evidence of widespread fraud that would change the election results.Several witnesses presented by Giuliani Wednesday say they saw irregularities and fraud while counting ballots at Detroit's TCF Center after polls closed. LOUISVILLE, Ky. – One of the three Louisville police officers involved in the shooting death of Breonna Taylor is being fired.The city’s mayor, Greg Fischer, announced Friday that the police department is initiating termination procedures against officer Brett Hankison, 44.“Unfortunately, due to a provision in state law that I very much would like to see changed, both the Chief and I are precluded from talking about what brought us to this moment, or even the timing of this decision,” the mayor said in a statement.According to a termination letter obtained by WLKY, Hankison was informed of his firing Friday morning.The other two officers involved in the fatal shooting, 47-year-old Jon Mattingly and 42-year-old Myles Cosgrove, remain with the department, but have been placed on administrative reassignment, the Courier Journal reports.As part of a narcotics investigation, the officers used a battering ram to knock down Breonna Taylor’s door as they served a no-knock warrant in the early morning hours of March 13.During the incident, Taylor’s boyfriend, Kenneth Walker, has said that he thought the officers were intruders and fired a warning shot. The officers returned fire, shooting Taylor eight times, and she died in the hall of her apartment. No drugs were found.Thursday, Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron held a press conference, where he asked for patience from the public as his office investigates the shooting.Taylor's death is one of a handful of African Americans who have died at the hands of police officers or former police officers in 2020. MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A divided Wisconsin Supreme Court has refused to hear President Donald Trump’s attempt to overturn his election loss to Democrat Joe Biden in the battleground state. The court on Thursday said the case must first wind its way through lower courts. Trump had argued that there would not be enough time to wage the legal battle that way before presidential electors cast their ballots on Dec. 14. An attorney for Trump says he'll file the lawsuit in circuit court. Biden defeated Trump by nearly 20,700 votes in Wisconsin.
