PAPEETE, French Polynesia, Nov. 21 (Xinhua) -- China's top political advisor, Jia Qinglin, met with French High Commissioner of the Republic in French Polynesia Adolphe Colrat here on Friday. Jia, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), arrived at the South Pacific island Friday afternoon for a technical stopover amid his four-state trip. Chinese President Hu Jintao and French President Nicolas Sarkozy held a successful meeting in September on the sidelines of the U.N. BEIJING, Nov. 17 (Xinhua) -- Chinese President Hu Jintao will visit the United States next year at the invitation of President Barack Obama, a joint statement said Tuesday.     Obama extended the invitation at a formal meeting with Hu in Beijing's Great Hall of the People, and Hu accepted it with pleasure, said the China-U.S. Joint Statement issued after the meeting.
