SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Police are searching for a suspect Tuesday they say threatened a woman with a gun in an hotel bathroom. According to police, the incident happened in a bathroom at the Hilton on the 4200 block of Taylor Street in Old Town.Police say the man threatened the woman with a semi-automatic gun.Initially a man who matched that description was detained after a short foot chase. Police say he ran for unknown reasons but was quickly released when they determined he was not the attacker.Authorities describe the suspect as a black man in his mid-20s who is five feet, eight inches tall, was wearing a gray shirt, tan pants, a light colored backpack and has short hair.The suspect is wanted for brandishing a weapon, battery and assault with the attempt to commit a sexual offense. 806

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Pacific Beach residents were seen running for their lives as a pickup truck slammed into several parked vehicles early Thursday.Witness video captured the incident, showing a pickup truck revving its engine, screeching its tires, and slamming into vehicles. Witnesses said at least nine vehicles were damaged. Another video showed neighbors holding the driver down on the ground until police arrived, one neighbor holding the man down in a headlock. Someone nearby could be heard yelling, "don't hurt him," at the group.Police arrive to detain the driver, but it's not clear what led to the dangerous incident.One neighbor who helped hold down the driver said his first reaction was to prevent anyone for getting hurt."My first reaction he needed to get out of the car and restrain him so he didn't hit anyone else," said James Scherr.The driver was taken to a nearby hospital by police for minor injuries. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Police have identified the man stabbed to death in a Pacific Beach bathroom this week.San Diego Police said officers were called on Sunday to a public restroom at 700 Grand Ave. to reports of a man who had been stabbed. Nearby lifeguards and firefighters were the first to arrive and started providing first aid to the man.Police said the victim, 39-year-old Michael Wagley, had puncture wounds to his upper torso and was taken to a nearby hospital, but died of his injuries. Police said Wagley was new to the San Diego area and had no established residence.RELATED: Man fatally stabbed in Pacific Beach bathroom, San Diego police sayAfter police arrived to the scene, several witnesses reported the suspect fled after the stabbing. A man matching the suspect description, later identified as 33-year-old Martin Alvarez, was detained in the area and later arrested for murder.Police are still investigating the events that led up to the stabbing and a possible motive. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - One person was shot and killed Friday at the Linda Vista Recreation Center, San Diego Police said.The shooting happened about 5 p.m. at the facility at 7064 Levant St., near the intersection of Linda Vista Road and Genesee Avenue.A witness told 10News he heard the shots and saw a teenager with a gunshot wound to the chest and someone performing CPR.RELATED: 17-year-old shot during Linda Vista drive-by shootingVideo from Sky10 showed police tape blocking off part of the parking lot near the tennis courts and officers with flashlights on the area's walkways.No information was immediately available about the shooter.Bystanders said this type of violence is happening at least once a month and blamed homeless people and gangs.This is the fourth shooting since May in Linda Vista. May 23: Carlos Valdovinos, 16, was shot and killed on Kelly Street. A suspect was later arrested. June 14: Two people, a 20-year-old man and 15-year-old boy, were shot and injured at Valdovinos’ memorial. Aug. 8: A 19-year-old man was shot, but not seriously injured, during a fight at Kelly Street Park. Oct. 3: A 17-year-old boy who was walking with a girl on Linda Vista Road was shot just after noon.
