Air bags are an essential safety feature in modern vehicles, but for some drivers and passengers, air bags aren't providing a satisfactory level of safety, according to a government agency.The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration announced recently that 10 million additional air bags have been added to a recall of Takata air bags. The air bags were installed by 14 different automakers, including some Ford, GM and Toyota models. The NHTSA said that exposure to long-term heat and humidity can cause these air bags to explode when deployed. The NHTSA claims that faulty air bags have caused injuries and fatalities. "The propellant in some of the subject inflators may degrade over time, which could lead to over-aggressive combustion in the event the air bag is activated," the NHTSA said. A wildfire has shut down a portion of Interstate 95 in northern Florida, snarling traffic on a major US highway as the busy Memorial Day weekend begins.The Yellow Bluff Fire has scorched 450 acres and is 30 percent contained, the Florida Forest Service's Jacksonville office said. A teenager has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a boy was thrown from the 10th floor at the Tate Modern gallery in central London on Sunday, the city's Metropolitan Police said.The 6-year-old was found badly injured on a fifth-floor roof and was taken to a hospital by a helicopter, police said.Officers initially said the boy was in critical condition. In an update on Monday, they said he was in "critical but stable condition."
