SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Ranked seventh in the state, an Oceanside High School wrestler makes daily sacrifices to be an elite athlete. But in a recent tournament, Shane Hansen put sportsmanship above being number one. After four matches, Hansen made it to the finals in the La Costa Canyon tournament. However, the final match was getting away from him. "It was the third period, the last period, I was down 12-3, I believe, we went out of bounds, and he ended up dislocating his shoulder," said Hansen. "I felt pretty bad because obviously, he was winning that match, and it wasn't my match to win."Hansen tried to forfeit himself from the match but was not allowed. "When he came up to me and was like, I want to trade my medal, I want to trade my medal, I was just kind of taken aback that in the moment, so quickly, he was wanting to do that," said Hansen's coach, Dustin Long. During the award ceremony, Hansen gave his gold medal to his opponent in exchange for the silver medal. Hansen held up two fingers representing second place in the podium photo, a symbolic gesture to his injured opponent. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- San Diego Police are asking for the public’s help locating a man suspected of threatening a Target employee with a razor during a robbery.Police say the incident happened around 10 a.m. on March 25 at the Target on the 1200 block of Camino Del Rio North.According to police, a loss prevention officer noticed a man inside the store he recognized from previous encounters.Police say the man grabbed three memory cards and attempted to remove them from their cases.After removing one of the memory cards and placing it in his pocket, the man was confronted by the officer who followed him to the exit.The suspect then threatened the officer with a folding razor knife he removed from his waistband.The suspect is described as a six-foot tall 28-year-old white male wearing a tan colored long-sleeve dress shirt, blue jeans and black tennis shoes.Anyone with information is asked to call San Diego Police at 619-531-2299. 951

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Ridesharing companies like Uber and Lyft could shut down in California as early as Friday due to a judge's ruling ordering the companies to classify their drivers as employees, not contractors. Uber and Lyft have warned their users and drivers about the possible shutdown. Both companies have appealed the ruling. The issue stems from Assembly Bill 5, a law that classifies contractors as employees, giving them the right to unionize, have access to minimum wage, overtime, paid sick leave and workers compensation benefits. Some Uber and Lyft drivers are in favor of AB5, but many others say they would like to continue working as independent contractors because of the flexibility the job allows them. They need to get out of Tijuana because it's just crazy for us,” said Candace Sanchez, a Tijuana resident.On the US side, those with family south of the border are concerned with what the future holds. “It worries me that the border might get closed. I mean it's like uh what's going on? SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Real estate company Zillow launched a new service in San Diego Monday that gives homeowners another option for selling their property.The service, called Zillow Offers, will present a cash offer to homeowners who want to sell their home as-is, without the need for open houses or renovations.This is the second market in California that Zillow has offered the service. In the last quarter, Zillow charged an average fee of 7.5% on transactions in the cities it currently operates.“Are they going to get top dollar? No, they are not,” said Mark Goldman, a loan officer and a former real estate professor.On the flip side, Goldman realizes the advantage comes in the form of convenience.“What they are getting is turning the house into cash very quickly and with the least amount of hassle,” said Goldman.In San Diego, realtor Kyle Whissel will be working with Zillow on the ground to act as Zillow’s buying agent as well as their selling agent once the home is market-ready.“We’ll give [Zillow] our opinion of value, they’ll punch that into their algorithm and that will spit it out a price to the homeowner,” Whissel said.The homeowner will then decide if they want to sell at that price, after which they can set a close date within as little as 5 days.“Zillows goal is to come in at market value, make a little bit of improvements, similar to improvements someone would make to put their home on the market,” said Whissel. “Once those are made, we’ll put it back on market at the new market value.” 1527
