FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WCPO) -- A firefighter in Franklin Township, Ohio who posted a racial slur on his Facebook page saying he'd save a dog over a black person has resigned, according to The Journal-News.Tyler Roysdon submitted his resignation late Monday night, township officials told the newspaper, after his racially charged comment got him suspended on Sept. 12.Roysdon’s since-deleted Facebook post has made national news. He purportedly stated that, given the choice, he would save a dog before a black person -- posting “one dog is worth a million” and then using the N-word.Before his resignation, Middletown NAACP chapter president Dora Bronston called for Roysdon to be fired, saying a firefighter's job is "to be there for every person that calls on your help.""This person is 20 years old - apparently not mature enough to be a firefighter," Bronston said. "We trust those people with our lives to protect us, to keep us safe our families safe, and we don't want them to put us in harm's way."Without authority to fire Roysdon, Township Fire Chief Steve Bishop had placed Roysdon on indefinite suspension pending a disciplinary hearing. Township trustees had scheduled a disciplinary hearing for Roysdon for Sept. 27. 1297

Fleetwood Mac and Lindsey Buckingham are cutting ties.A representative for the band confirmed to CNN on Monday that Buckingham and the band have parted ways and that he will not be going on tour with them in the fall."Lindsey Buckingham will not be performing with the band on this tour," a statement read. "The band wishes Lindsey all the best."The representative would not provide any further details as to what led to his departure. A source close to the band told CNN that the split was "over musical differences regarding the tour." A representative for Buckingham referred questions to the band.Buckingham joined Fleetwood Mac in 1974, the same year as the band's longtime lead singer, Stevie Nicks. Buckingham, who has since served as the lead guitarist for the band, wrote some of the band's most well-known songs including "Go Your Own Way," which was the lead single off the band's highly successful 1977 album, Rumours.The vague statement regarding Buckingham's abrupt departure came at the same time the band announced that musicians Mike Campbell and Neil Finn would be joining the band on tour.Fleetwood Mac was originally founded in 1967 by Peter Green. Christine McVie joined the band in 1970.Over the years the band has experienced ups and downs. The band went on hiatus in 1982 and when they agreed to go back on tour in 1987, Buckingham backed out at the last minute. In 1998, Christine McVie left the band and rejoined in 2014.During a Grammy event in January, CNN spoke to Buckingham, who said said that the "dysfunction" is what made the band great."Everything that we wore on our sleeve, the discord and nature of the band, was the people breaking up, the dysfunction. FOSTER CITY, Calif. – The maker of remdesivir, a drug shown to shorten recovery time for severely ill COVID-19 patients, has released its pricing for the treatment.Gilead announced Monday that it will charge ,340 for a typical treatment course for people covered by government health programs in the United States and other “developed countries.”As for Americans with private insurance, they’ll be charged ,120, “because of the way the U.S. system is set up and the discounts that government healthcare programs expect,” Gilead said.Based on current treatment patterns, Gilead said the vast majority of patients are expected to receive a five-day treatment course using six vials of remdesivir. Individually, each vial will cost 0 for those covered by a government insurer, and 0 per vile for those with a private insurer.In poorer countries, with less health care resources, generic drugmakes will be allowed to make the drug and sell it for far less than in the U.S.The pricing has already come under fire, because the development of the drug was largely funded by taxpayer money.Gilead’s CEO, Daniel O’Day, wrote in an open letter that the company approached its pricing decision with the aim of helping as many patients as possible, as quickly as possible.“At the level we have priced remdesivir and with government programs in place, along with additional Gilead assistance as needed, we believe all patients will have access,” wrote O’Day.O’Day said Gilead has entered into an agreement with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) whereby HHS and states will continue to manage allocation to hospitals until the end of September. Fox News has fired news anchor Ed Henry after it received a complaint about workplace sexual misconduct by him. The network says it hired an outside investigator to look into the charge after getting the complaint on June 25, and fired Henry on the basis of what was found. Henry co-anchored the news hours between 9 a.m. and noon, Eastern time. He had rehabilitated his career at Fox after taking a four-month leave of absence that ended in 2017 after published reports that he had an extramarital affair.
