Air bags are an essential safety feature in modern vehicles, but for some drivers and passengers, air bags aren't providing a satisfactory level of safety, according to a government agency.The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration announced recently that 10 million additional air bags have been added to a recall of Takata air bags. The air bags were installed by 14 different automakers, including some Ford, GM and Toyota models. The NHTSA said that exposure to long-term heat and humidity can cause these air bags to explode when deployed. The NHTSA claims that faulty air bags have caused injuries and fatalities. "The propellant in some of the subject inflators may degrade over time, which could lead to over-aggressive combustion in the event the air bag is activated," the NHTSA said. An American couple visiting the Dominican Republic was found dead in their hotel room after they missed their scheduled check out, a police spokesman said.Edward Nathaniel Holmes, 63, and Cynthia Ann Day, 49, missed their scheduled check out time at the Bahia Principe Hotel in La Romana.Hotel staff members went into their room and found the couple unresponsive Thursday, said spokesman Frank Felix Duran Mejia of the Dominican Republic National Police. There were no signs of violence in the room.Relatives told CNN affiliate WBAL that Holmes and Day were engaged. They were from Prince George's County, Maryland, and were supposed to fly back home the day they were found, the station reported.Hotel staff contacted local authorities. The cause of their death is not yet known, but their bodies have been transported to the Dominican National Institute of Forensic Sciences for an exam. Luckily, they found each other and completed the perfect pair.The match was made last Friday night when the Glen Lake Lakers football team heard that their neighboring Forest Area Marching Band had no one to play for after their football team's season was canceled -- Forest Area suspended its season due to low player participation.So, the Lakers invited the band to come play at theirs."No Friday night football game under those lights is complete without your sideline cheer team and a marching band," Mark Mattson, Assistant Principal and Athletic Director at Glen Lake, told CNN.Thrilled at the opportunity to perform for a crowd, the band quickly learned the Lakers' fight song. Meanwhile, an hour away, Glen Lake was adding extra seating and erecting tents to ward off the impending rain."They were just over the moon excited to go be able to play at a different location," Forest Area Principal Kelly Holeman told CNN. A second federal judge has issued an order permanently blocking the Trump administration from adding a citizenship question to the 2020 census in any form, despite the Trump administration's insistence it has abandoned plans to add the question on the census.The latest order is from Judge George Hazel who is overseeing a case in federal court in Maryland. New York federal judge Jesse Furman issued a nearly identical order Tuesday.Both judges will also continue to monitor the controversial issue, saying they will both retain jurisdiction in the case until the 2020 census results are processed.Plaintiffs in the New York case have asked the judge for additional discovery and to consider sanctions against administration officials if the judge ultimately determines they were untruthful in recounting the motivation behind adding a citizenship question.President Donald Trump announced last week that he will seek citizenship information from agencies that already collect the data, and will not pursue placing a citizenship question on the 2020 census. The Supreme Court in June blocked the question from being added.Changes to the census could impact the balance of power in states and the House of Representatives, which are based on total population.
