(KGTV) - Wait times at Southern California Department of Motor Vehicles offices have some drivers traveling hundreds of miles to avoid long lines.The DMV in the high desert town of Needles has some of the shortest lines in the state, KABC reported. When a news crew arrived at 10:30 a.m. Monday, there were only two people waiting in line."It's really nice. Not like back at home in L.A. Congressman Duncan Hunter resigned after pleading guilty to a felony count of campaign fraud in December. "For two years now, we've had a member of Congress who didn't serve on any committees, and that's really where you help your district," said John Dadian, a political analyst who lives in Hunter's district. (KGTV) - The California Department of Motor Vehicles announced plans Monday to close for half a day in July to conduct employee customer service training. Operation Excellence: DMV Training will “equip employees with the tools they need to handle an unprecedented volume of REAL ID applications,” said DMV officials. Californians will be required to show a REAL ID-compliant license or identification card, or passport, to fly in the U.S. starting Oct. 1, 2020. (KGTV) — While the North Complex Fire has left hundreds of thousands of acres charred, first responders found a sign of hope buried beneath the rubble last week.Butte County Sheriff's Office deputies and search and rescue personnel were sifting through the rubble of properties in the Berry Creek area on Friday, Sept. 11, when they made the unexpected and miraculous discovery.A puppy was discovered underneath blackened and charred remains of a property, according to the department. The puppy had some minor burns and was taken to Valley Oak Veterinary Center in Chico for treatment.BCSO says that the property owner reportedly had several dogs and was not able to locate the one that was left behind before evacuating in time.Deputies decided it was only appropriate to name the dog "Trooper" after finding it alive.A social media post by the department was filled with gratitude and heartwarming messages, as Northern California has seen the North Complex Fire burn 258,802 acres through Butte and Plumas counties since Aug. 18.
