HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) -- A Connecticut city is offering free roadside assistance to bicyclists when they suffer a flat tire or other minor mechanical problems.The program in Hartford is run by the city's business improvement district and is touted as the first of its kind in the nation. It is designed to encourage bicycle commuting.Six district employees have been trained to fix flats, repair broken chains, adjust brakes and do other minor bicycle repairs. They patrol the streets on bikes and have responded to more than 40 calls from stranded bicyclists since launching the initiative in May.The city's bicycle and pedestrian coordinator says Hartford also recently adopted a "complete streets" initiative, which will require all new road improvement projects to include bicycle lanes. 798

Harry Dean Stanton, the longtime character actor whose face had its own unique character, has died at 91, according to his agent, John S. Kelly.Stanton passed away Friday at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.Stanton, whose gaunt, worn looks were more recognizable to many than his name, appeared in more than 100 films and 50 television shows, including the films "Alien" and "Repo Man" and the series "Big Love" and the recent version of "Twin Peaks."For many years, Stanton played lesser-billed characters. In 1984, he got his first part as a leading man in "Paris, Texas," which won a host of awards, including the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival.The late film critic Roger Ebert wrote of the actor in 1989, "No movie featuring either Harry Dean Stanton or M. Emmet Walsh in a supporting role can be altogether bad."Stanton often played haggard men with battered souls, Turner Classic Movies said in its description of him. TCM is owned by CNN's parent company, Time Warner."A restless, unconventional spirit off-camera, Stanton always lent a sympathetic realness to the menacing criminals and barroom-dwelling outsiders he stashed beneath his craggy face and wiry, worn frame," TCM said.Writer and director David Lynch said in a statement that Stanton was a great human being as well as a great actor."There went a great one. GREENFIELD, Ind. -- An early morning traffic stop on I-70 on Monday ended with a huge drug bust for Indiana State Police. A trooper pulled over a 2017 Ford Expedition for a traffic violation near Greenfield, Indiana around 11 a.m. after he witnessed the driver weaving in and out of the traffic lanes. During the stop, the trooper found more than 78 pounds of marijuana stowed in the back of the SUV. The street value of the pot is estimated to be around 0,000. The driver, Christian Elie, 51, of Colorado and his passenger, Austin Johnson, 42, of Indianapolis, are both facing multiple drug charges. The arrests and charges remain under investigation by Indiana State Police. 717

In an article for the website Motherboard, Grauer gives a list of people search sites and how to request that your information be removed.Some sites like MyLife, require a phone call or email. But others have more hoops for you to jump through."They want you to mail your driver’s license," Grauer said.Even then, removal may not be permanent."You have to repeat this process every three months or so," Grauer says of the privacy service.Grauer says the privacy service, Delete Me, offers to continuously have you removed for an annual fee.But Grauer says the easiest way to keep them out of your business is to "be careful about not giving out your information as much as possible."That could mean using a P.O. box or your work address to receive mail — or using your initials instead of your full name when making purchases. 1316
