SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Vehicles remain one of the top causes of wildfires in San Diego County, according to numbers released by Cal Fire.Most recently, the Carr Fire that burned thousands of acres in Redding, Calif., was blamed on a flat tire leading to a car's wheel rim scraping on the asphalt.In San Diego County, vehicles remain the top two causes of wildfires, officials said. Gavin Newsom named professional skateboarder Tony Hawk and television personality and actor RuPaul Charles to the 13th class of the California Hall of Fame. Hawk and Charles, both from San Diego, will be inducted alongside writer Maya Angelou, Olympic medalist soccer player Brandi Chastain, astrophysicist France A. Córdova, author Jeanne Wakatsuki Houston, Reverend James M. Lawson, Jr., actor and comedian George Lopez, iconic chef Wolfgang Puck, and winemaker Helen M. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - U.S. Coast Guard rescued 13 Mexican nationals from the waters off the coast of La Jolla Saturday.The rescue, located near the Children's Pool, was reported just before 8 a.m., according to the Coast Guard. The 13 individuals, one woman and 12 men, were rescued from a panga boat and brought to shore.Border Patrol officials took the individuals into custody and officials believe they were trying to enter the country illegally.RELATED: One person hurt, possible drug packages found after boat washes ashore in CarlsbadPanga boat attempts to illegally have seen a sharp increased since 2010, according to Border Patrol, as land borders have tightened.Just last month, one person was found injured around several packages of marijuana washed ashore in Carlsbad.
