"We should know more about her condition tomorrow."Magnolia's Hope was fourth at the start of the race, took the lead a quarter-mile into the race and dropped to fourth in the field of seven through a half-mile.Magnolia's Hope has one victory in nine career starts, along with two second-place finishes and one third-place finish. She has earned ,260 in her career.The 4-year-old filly Velvet Queen also was vanned off after finishing third in the eighth race, a mile race on the dirt track for fillies and mares 3 years old and up which have never won ,000 once other than maiden. Velvet Queen injured a tendon, which McBride described as "not a major injury, one that equine (and human) athletes suffer in competition.""She'll need some time off to recover, but should be fine," McBride said.Velvet Queen has three victories, four second-place finishes and three third-place finishes in 16 career starts. Data crunching firm Palantir Technologies is denying claims made by Cambridge Analytica whistleblower Christopher Wylie that it has links to the controversial company.Wylie, a former contractor for Cambridge Analytica, the firm at the center of a debate over how social media data is used, told a UK parliamentary committee on Tuesday that senior Palantir staff had access to user data gleaned from Facebook."There were senior Palantir employees that were also working on the Facebook data," said Wylie. (KGTV) — A three-year-old horse died after it broke down during training and had to be euthanized at the Del Mar Fairgrounds Saturday.The horse, named Koa, broke down during training, according to the Del Mar Thoroughbred Club (DMTC) confirmed. The extent of the horse's injury was unclear.Koa is the ninth horse to die while racing or training at Del Mar this year. Bri Bri, an unraced three-year-old filly, was euthanized in August after suffering a serious injury during training.In November, two horses — three-year-olds Ghost Street and Prayer Warrior — died after serious injuries in separate races.
