(KGTV) - The group leading the campaign to transform the San Diego County Credit Union Stadium site into a west campus for San Diego State University has major concerns over the question that will be posed to voters on the November ballot. Friends of SDSU is dismayed to the point that the issue could wind up in court. "Our position is we've correctly portrayed the initiative measure in our corrected version. If that isn't acceptable for whatever reason, we'll have to determine whatever remedies are available," Attorney Ken Lounsbery, speaking on behalf of the campaign, said to the City Council on Monday. RELATED: San Diego State's Mission Valley stadium plan includes NFL possibilitySDSU West is competing with SoccerCity, a private development, over the future of the 166-acre site. Both are promising a smaller stadium with a river park. The City Attorney's office, which is suing to get both thrown off the ballot, developed the language for both initiatives to go before voters. The SDSU West question, of 75 words, doesn't say the university would buy the land for fair market value. (KGTV) - People who believe they were a part of San Diego’s water meter reading debacle got a chance to get some answers from City of San Diego officials Thursday night.Hundreds crowded into the Mira Mesa Senior Center for City Council-member Chris Cate’s Q&A forum on the water meter misreadings and subsequent over-billings. “It’s about trying to earn the trust back from the people,” said Cate on the meeting along with the oncoming audit of more than 250,000 water meters in San Diego.“I think people need to feel comfortable knowing that their meters actually can get read and read correctly,” added CateLast week, the City of San Diego admitted 343 customers in a pool of a little more than 2,000 had their water meters incorrectly read in the communities of Rancho Bernardo, Ranch Penasquitos, Carmel Valley and Mira Mesa.Water utility officials said it’s their plan to send out the refund checks in the next three to thirty days. 979

(KGTV) - Not many people have a Coronado bridge story like Bertha Loaiza.Loaiza was 3-years-old in August of 1985 when her mother jumped from the 246-foot tall bridge holding her.The mother and daughter were unconscious when fisherman pulled them out of the harbor. 24-year-old Angelica Medina never took another breath, but responders were able to resuscitate Bertha.“Honestly it’s hard for even me to believe,” said Loaiza, who suffered a broken hip and cataracts in her right eye from the incident, “My memories blocked out — but I’m good now.’Growing up, her family told her that her mother died in a car accident, but she figured out the real story as a teenager after watching an old news clip.“It makes me sad she didn’t have the resources that are available to everybody today,” said Loaiza.Now 36, Loaiza says she was angry at her mom when she first found out.
