SAN DIEGO (CNS) - Police Saturday were asking for the public's help in locating an elderly woman who went missing from her son's Mira Mesa home.Martha Carrington, 83, was seen leaving her son's apartment in Casa Mira View, east of Westview Parkway and north of Mira Mesa Boulevard, between 10:30 p.m. Friday and 2 a.m. Saturday, San Diego police said.Carrington suffers from schizophrenia, high blood pressure and the early stages of Alzheimer's disease, officers said.Her family doesn't believe she took any money with her, and she has no cell phone.Carrington was described as black and about 5-feet-8-inches tall. She was last seen in blue pajamas, but it's possible she changed clothes before leaving, police said.Officers asked anyone with information on the incident to call the San Diego Police Department at (619) 531-2000. 839

SAN DIEGO (CNS) -- San Diego Gas & Electric residential customers will see their electricity bills reduced by .28 in both August and September thanks to a climate credit program.Designed to fight climate change, the California Climate Credit will come from a state program that requires power plants, natural gas providers and other large industries that emit greenhouse gases to buy carbon pollution permits. The credit on customers' bills is their share of the payments from the state's program."This bill credit provides some financial relief at a critical time when many people need it due to the COVID-19 economic crisis and summer weather driving up energy use," said Scott Crider, SDG&E's vice president of customer services.Originally, the credit was scheduled to appear on customer bills in April and October. To help reduce bill spikes in the summer, when energy usage typically goes up along with the temperature, SDG&E successfully petitioned the California Public Utilities Commission to change the timing of the credit to August and September -- the months when air conditioning use typically peaks.There is no action required to receive the credit. All residential customers, including community choice aggregation customers, will automatically receive this credit from SDG&E on their August and September billing cycles.Residential customers with natural gas service received the natural gas portion of the California Climate Credit -- .11 -- in April. SAN DIEGO (CNS) - The San Diego County COVID-19 case total rose rapidly over the weekend and health authorities have reported more than 300 new COVID-19 cases seven times in the past eight days.County public health officials reported a single-day record of 497 new positive COVID-19 cases and one additional death on Sunday, bringing the county's totals to 13,334 cases and 361 fatalities.On Friday, the county reported 440 new cases, the highest number until Sunday. The day before, the county reported 436 new cases.The death reported Sunday was of a woman who was in her early 60s, officials said. The woman had one or more underlying health conditions. 664
