CLEVELAND — On Friday, WEWS talked to Len Honacki, a Cleveland man who was waiting on his heart medication after a United States Postal Service delay.“I was a little worried how long I can go without before I call the doctor and say ‘Hey what’s going on and what do I need to do?'” he said.Tracking records show that his medicine had been to Cincinnati, Washington D.C., and Maryland.“The post office had a series of mishaps," he said.When Alicia Rauckhorst, the Northern Ohio marketing manager for USPS, learned of Honacki’s issue, she decided to take matters into her own hands.“Somewhere in there, inadvertently, it got sent to Maryland,” she said. “As soon as it got back, no matter where it was, I was going to let him know.”She called Honacki herself.“She called me just to apologize and she said ‘I will do whatever it takes to find your meds and I would get it to you,’” he said. “When someone says ‘I'll drive to Cincinnati 4 hours and pick it up and bring it 4 hours back.’ To me, I mean, come on, that’s above and beyond.”Luckily, Rauckhorst made sure his meds arrived in Cleveland Saturday night and Sunday morning she made a special delivery.“I went up there and picked up the package called it when I had it in hand and said ‘Hey, I’m on my way to your house to bring you this medicine.’”Honacki was shocked.“She comes to the front door and delivers the mail right to me. Cliff Robinson, a former UConn star and longtime top sixth man in the NBA, has died. His death was confirmed by UConn. No cause of death was given, though former Huskies coach Jim Calhoun said Robinson had a stroke 2 1/2 years ago. Nicknamed Uncle Cliffy, Robinson played 18 seasons in the NBA and helped the Portland Trail Blazers reach two NBA Finals. Before that, he was the centerpiece of Calhoun’s early teams at UConn. Robinson was the NBA’s Sixth Man of the Year in 1993 and made his lone All-Star appearance the following year. Cliff Robinson was 53. 566

CLAREMORE, Okla. -- A Black Lives Matter group in Oklahoma group is calling a symbol at a museum outside of Tulsa offensive and asking for it to be removed. The cornerstone of the Claremore Museum of History contains a swastika, but some historians argue that the symbol was included before the rise of Nazi Germany.“It was the cornerstone in Clem Van Rogers livery stable," Will Rogers Memorial Museum Public Relations Director Pat Reeder said. “They sold it for 0 and in 1936 they started this building and Will had already died and they decided to name it for him."It's a piece of history that's been around for more than 100 years and sits on the south side of the building at the Claremore Museum of History. "I think it’s offensive to me that someone would think that a cornerstone would be so hate-filled you’d have to remove it," Reeder said. The symbol on top of the cornerstone is under fire. “For Native Americans, it was very much life, earth and sun that’s what it meant to them," Reeder said.Reeder remembers it as a patch on soldiers uniforms of the 45th division in World War I, who were mostly from Oklahoma. “I couldn’t find anything that called it a name," she said. "I think it was given the name when Hitler decided he needed a symbol.” Reverend Mareo Johnson, a Black Lives Matter activist in Tulsa, Oklahoma, wants the cornerstone removed. “When you see it now it’s a public representation of hate and regardless of what it meant then it’s how people see it now," he said. Reverend Johnson says the meaning has changed overtime and wants any sign of hate removed. “The swastika sign is the main point and everything else is fine it’s that symbol that is connected to hate," he said. He wants the country to move forward. “I don’t believe that it will be too hard of a process because it’s very understandable," Rev. Johnson sad. Reeder argues that the monument has largely flown under the radar in the decades since it's been installed.Rev. Johnson says he plans to reach out and set up a meeting with the president of the museum to express his concerns.   2240

CORONADO (KGTV): Five trees at Coronado's Spreckels Park may need to be cut down before they fall down.The trees, all of them Sugar Gum Eucalyptus, are either at "High" or "Moderate" risk of failure, according to an arborist's report presented to the City Council last week.One tree, the one deemed the highest risk, is already scheduled for demolition. That will happen Tuesday, starting at 6 am. That tree is in the Northeast corner of the park.The other four will be monitored, including two trees with branches that hang over the children's playground.The city hired West Coast Arborist to study all 95 trees in the park after a pine tree collapsed in September.City Code gives the Department of Public Services the authority to decide which trees should or should not be cut down. According to the rules, trees will be removed if they present, "a condition that is hazardous, are in declining or poor health and the condition cannot be corrected by pruning or any other means."Since 2010, the city has removed nine trees from the park. Five other trees have either fallen or had branches fall off. 1115
