Chula Vista also made the list, coming in 123rd place. According to the report, the national unemployment rate has fallen to an 18-year low of just 3.7 percent, while hiring also is up. College graduates are also beginning to see the benefits of the strong job market. According to the National Association of Colleges and Employers, employers plan to hire 16.6 percent more members from the class of 2019 compared to the previous year. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A woman was hospitalized Sunday afternoon after authorities say she was bitten by a rattlesnake near the Torrey Pines Gliderport.According to the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department, the 33-year-old was hiking nearby trails when she was bitten.The woman was airlifted to a nearby hospital for treatment. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A woman was killed and two men were injured following a shooting at a Church's Chicken in Otay Mesa West Wednesday night. According to San Diego Police, the shooting of the three employees was reported at the restaurant in the 3700 block of Del Sol Boulevard just after 5:30 p.m. Police say a man in his 30s walked into the restaurant early in the evening. "The suspect got into a verbal argument with employees and left the restaurant. Surveillance video from a business across the street shows the suspect parking and re-parking his car several times between 4:40 p.m. and 5:22 p.m. At 4:53 p.m., video shows the suspect walking into the establishment before going back to his car at 5:08 p.m. The man re-parked his car at 5:22 p.m. before walking into the restaurant a final time at 5:27, when the shooting took place. At 5: 30 p.m., video shows the suspect walking to his car before driving away with his lights off. Minutes later, at 5:34 p.m., a San Diego Police vehicle arrived at the Church's Chicken. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A serial flasher who exposed himself to seven women near University of California San Diego was sentenced Thursday, according to City Attorney Mara Elliott. Nicholas Saienni, 34, pleaded guilty to four misdemeanor charges of indecent exposure and received a sentence of 180 days of custody, three years of probation, a waiver of his Fourth Amendment search and seizure rights, and court fines and fees. He was also ordered to register as a sex offender and get counseling. If he violates his probation, he could face an additional year and a half in jail, according to prosecutors. San Diego Police arrested Saienni after eight separate incidents between January and March 2019. Prosecutors said Saienni exposed himself to the women while dressed as a jogger and wearing a hooded sweatshirt to conceal his identity. Saienni confessed to the indecent exposure and admitted he had been convicted of similar acts in Delaware in 2018, Elliott reported. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) – A year-long construction project to improve State Route 163 hit a milestone Tuesday morning with the completion of work on Friars and Frazee Roads.Crews arrived early in the morning, finishing up last minute preps before the big reveal. One noticeably new addition are signal lights put in place to help regulate the flow of traffic.The city also made improvements, like adding lanes on Friars Road. There are four lanes going east and four lanes going west. Changes to the on and off ramps from the 163 onto Friars Road may reduce the confusion and congestion caused by the old traffic pattern. Crews also added sidewalks and clearly-marked bike lanes. “We can separate and have a path for all modes of traffic including foot and bike traffic. So, it will be safer for everyone using Friars Road. It’s a safer facility now that we made these improvements," said a Caltrans spokesperson.The “Open for Business,” ceremony took place at 10 a.m. 969
