SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Northbound lanes of Interstate 5 through National City were shut down early Saturday following a deadly crash.The two-vehicle collision occurred just after the State Route 54 connector, according to California Highway Patrol. All traffic was being diverted off I-5 at the Mile of Cars. Traffic was also being diverted off WB SR-54 onto Highland Ave.Traffic gridlocked in the area, backing up onto the E St. on ramp in Chula Vista and westbound Sr-54 connector, according to CHP. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Neighbors woke up to find disturbing graffiti in their Hillcrest neighborhood.For Lauren Matley, it was hard to hold back tears, as she scraped away the red paint on her car window. This was just one of many vehicles that were painted on along 6th Avenue in Hillcrest. Someone also painted on the side of houses and on a garage.Doctor Barry Kaplan was walking his dog when he noticed the graffiti and he called police. "Several of my grandparents died in the Holocaust. So, for me to see this, this reminds me of Nazi Germany. It’s very offensive," Kaplan said.Though Matley doesn’t know if this was a random act or meant to be antisemitic, she says it hits too close to home being a member of the Jewish community."You wake up and this is what you look forward to? The black community would look forward to? The Jewish community would look forward to? The Muslim community looks forward to?" Matley said.Police say after the reports are written this case will be handed to an investigator. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Padres outfielder Tommy Pham is recovering after being stabbed in the back Sunday night, the team says.According to San Diego Police, Pham was stabbed during an altercation Sunday night.The Padres said Monday that Pham is in “good condition.” He is expected to make a full recovery.“We are aware of the incident last night involving Tommy Pham. He was treated at UC San Diego Health and is currently in good condition. He is expected to make a full recovery.
