Walmart has a plan to help eliminate the stress shoppers get when waiting in long lines.The company’s new system is called “Check Out with Me.” First, a Walmart associate scans your items with their special, mobile device. Then, they’ll swipe your credit card right there, before handing you the receipt.The process eliminates having to wait in line for a cashier. Marketing professor Darrin Duber-Smith at MSU Denver says consumers want options, and the main option they want is convenience. He says two companies in constant competition are Walmart and Amazon.Amazon recently announced their plans to open 3,000 brick and mortar stores-- that will be cashierless—by 2021.As for Walmart’s new checkout program, the company plans to position workers in the busiest sections of the store. Disney has narrowed down the opening dates for their Stars Wars expansions that are being built at both Disneyland and Disney World.The company announced on their Disney Parks blog that Star Wars Galaxy's Edge will open at Disneyland in summer of 2019. The expansion will open at Disney World in late fall 2019.The exact dates for the opening of both parks will be announced at a later date. They come just a few months before the yet to be named Star Wars Episode 9 is due in theaters on December 20, 2019.At Disneyland the massive expansion is being built north of Frontierland. At Disney World is being built at Disney's Hollywood Studios.The Disney World expansion is also being accompanied by a Star Wars themed hotel. EL CAJON, Calif. (KGTV) - El Cajon Police released a surveillance photo Friday in an effort to find the driver responsible for a deadly hit-and-run crash. Investigators said a newer silver four-door sedan ran down the unidentified victim in the intersection of East Chase and Lincoln Ave. about 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 6. A witness started CPR on the 58-year-old man but he died of his injuries after he was transported to Sharp Memorial Hospital. Dog owners from across the country boarded their dogs at Young Gunz Kennel so they could be trained to be hunting dogs.But now, owners are wondering how their pups were left for dead in kennels.After dropping off her puppy "Duke" at Young Gunz?Kennel in early April, Dani Allison of Spencer, Iowa, heard yesterday that Duke was one of three dogs found dead at the facility and the owner, Dustin Young, was nowhere to be seen. "I think that he let our dog die and didn't have the courtesy to call us or tell us or do anything but put him in a black bag," says Allison. Pottawatamie County Animal Control seized the dogs that were still living yesterday and took some to the Council Bluffs Humane Society and others to a makeshift shelter in Oakland where their owners could pick them up. "All of them were pretty shaken of course at the time because none of them had water in probably two days. So we did give them water and food of course but there was a lot of diarrhea and things like that that you have to deal with," says Matt Wyant, who oversees animal control in Pottawattamie County. 1134
EL CAJON, Calif. (KGTV) - A news helicopter had what County of San Diego officials called a “troubled” landing in El Cajon Tuesday. The incident with the Bell 206B helicopter was reported about 2:15 p.m. in the parking area of Gillespie Field at 681 Kenney St., Santee Fire reported. Video recorded by the news helicopter appears that it was a normal landing in which the helicopter skids land on a movable platform called a dolly. The dolly can then be pulled into a hangar. It seems from the last seconds of the video clip that one of the helicopter skids may have missed the platform and the chopper then tipped over.When emergency crews arrived, the helicopter was on its side.The pilot was not hurt but the passenger was taken to the hospital with minor injuries, officials said. Hazardous Materials teams were notified of a small fire and fuel spill, according to the County."The aircraft rolled over while landing, caught fire and sustained substantial damage. The degree of damage means this will be classified as an accident," said FAA spokesperson Ian McGregor.The FAA and NTSB will investigate the landing.The news helicopter is operated by a third party and shared by five San Diego media outlets, including 10News. 1235
