PHOENIX - Latest polling numbers released from the Secretary of State’s office shows Kyrsten Sinema has taken a slight lead over Martha McSally in the race for Arizona Senate.As of 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Sinema has 916,380 votes statewide, while McSally has 914,369.345,000 votes remain uncounted in Maricopa County while a small number of ballots remain uncounted as well in smaller counties.Officials estimate about 195,000 of those are early ballots, provisional, and out-of-precinct ballots that voters cast or dropped off on Election Day.It is one of the most-watched races across the country: will Martha McSally, a Republican, or Kyrsten Sinema, a Democrat, serve as Arizona's first congresswoman?Both are vying to fill Sen. Jeff Flake's seat after Flake's announcement in 2017 that he would not seek re-election.As preliminary results started to come in Tuesday evening, the two appeared to be in a dead heat with both flip-flopping for the lead. Maricopa County Recorder Adrian Fontes expects ballot counting to continue for several days. Pizza Hut will replace Papa John's as the official pizza of the NFL.The announcement comes a day after Papa John's said it would end its sponsorship of the league. Papa John's, which last fall blamed the NFL's response to player protests for slumping sales, will focus on its partnerships with individual teams.The league's deal with Pizza Hut is for four years, and is worth more than the Papa John's deal, a source familiar with the agreement told CNN. The agreement gives Pizza Hut, which is owned by Yum Brands, an array of exclusive marketing rights."We are thrilled to have Pizza Hut, an industry leader and one of America's favorite brands, as an official league sponsor," NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said in a statement.The sponsorship will roll out with the upcoming NFL Draft in April.Artie Starrs, the president of Pizza Hut U.S., said in a statement that the sponsorship potential was "endless. POINT LOMA, Calif. (KGTV) — Some residents in Point Loma are frustrated that they are being forced to remove their family-owned docks off Shelter Island. The mandate is part of the Port of San Diego's new Port Master Plan. Cameron Driscoll Lilley says her family's dock near Scott St and Bessemer Street is more than just an heirloom, it's significant piece of history in the community."This dock was put in by my great grandfather in 1943, and it was completed in 1944," Lilley said. Since then, her family has shared their dock with the public from sunrise to sunset. The deepest end portion of the pier is locked for safety reasons. She said this is an expensive endeavor but well worth the smiles it provides to visitors. "The insurance, maintenance, the upkeep, and the liability that we are exposed to. But it's worth it because it provides an opportunity for people in this community and beyond to interact with the waterfront in a way that they wouldn't get to do," Lilley said. Lilley said there are people from all over San Diego who enjoy walking on their dock to watch the fish and stingrays swim under their feet. But the Port of San Diego says their dock is not technically docked on their residential land, and because of that, it must come down. "They want to tear out a piece of our historical landscape," Lilley said. According to the California Coastal Commission rules, it cannot allow residential uses on land the agency governs. Lilley's only other choice is to make the dock available for the public 24/7. But she sees that as a safety hazard."The most tragic thing would be if somebody was out on the end and fell and or drowned or got hurt in a boating accident off of the pier," Lilley said.The Master Plan has no mention of hiring lifeguards if it becomes public."I think they are driving an agenda of tourism and revenue and of course San Diego needs that. But I am disappointed that the Port Master Plan hasn't prioritized the residents of this neighborhood," Lilley said. The Port of San Diego is welcoming all comments at their next Community Discussion. POINT LOMA, Calif. (KGTV) - A catamaran stuck in a Point Loma cave for nearly a week was pulverized by surf, according to the salvage crew.New photos and videos from Tow Boat US San Diego show unrecognizable pieces of fiberglass, and one hunk with the engine intact."There's no section left of the boat that looks like a boat at this point," Captain Tony Olson, with Tow Boat US San Diego, said.Last Friday morning two men on a fishing trip were rescued from a catamaran stuck inside a cave near the Point Loma Wastewater Treatment Plant. The men fell asleep while the boat was set to autopilot.The surf was so rough since the crash, salvage crews couldn't re-enter the cave until Thursday afternoon. "It just completely pounds that thing, bouncing it off the walls like a pinball... trying to get behind it, next to it, in front of it, is a bad place to be," Olson said.The divers took pictures and were prepared to pump out fuel when they realized there was no fuel to be found, "there are no fuel tanks left to be found, they're gone. So in the process of the boat coming apart they have floated away, it did not smell like fuel inside the cave at all," he said.Three pieces of the boat came back with the crew, two hunks of fiberglass, "part of a hatch possibly," Olson said, and a steering wheel.Friday morning the crew will devise a plan to pick up the rest. "Float larger sections out possibly drag them off and hoist them up to a boat we'll have waiting out there," Olson said.The divers possibly swimming out the smaller debris. Olson said the work will take more than a week to complete.Tow Boat US San Diego said they are working with the boat owner's insurance company. 1689
