BEIJING, Jan. 11 (Xinhua) -- Chinese President Xi Jinping on Monday urged leaders from all departments of the Central Military Commission (CMC) to hold high demands for themselves and impose strict self-discipline to set excellent examples for all servicemen.
It was stressed at the meeting that this year is an important year for the building of a moderately prosperous society in all respects and structural reform.
The new structure includes six new departments: joint staff, political work, logistical support, equipment development, training, and national defense mobilization. There are three commissions -- discipline inspection, politics and law, and science and technology -- as well as the general office and five more: administration, auditing, international cooperation, reform and organizational structure, and strategic planning.
The premier then went to a shantytown that will be renovated into apartment buildings this year, urging local governments to lessen people's wait times before moving into the new buildings.
It warns that Latin America's participation in global value chains is substantially lower than other regions.
