SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A power outage affected thousands San Diego Gas & Electric customers in the Ocean Beach area and SeaWorld late Friday.The outage was reported just before 4 p.m. It wasn't immediately clear what led to the outage.SeaWorld said the power outage was short lived and only affected the central and west areas of the theme park. No guests were trapped on any rides or injured and all animals were okay, according to the park.UPDATED TRAFFIC CONDITIONSThe outage also hit a portion of San Diego International Airport. Officials say power has since been restored but had affected Terminal 2 and the Rental Car Center.In total, about 15,000 customers have been affected, according to the power company. Crews were able to restore all power as of 5:40 p.m., according to SDG&E. 822

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A handful of San Diego County fire departments have sent crews across the state to help with the Woolsey and Camp Fires. But Cal Fire officials tell 10News they're making sure that enough resources are left behind to cover any emergencies that happen here."We have an obligation here to make sure we keep enough strategic reserve to stay safe in San Diego," says Cal Fire Battalion Chief Jon Heggie.Through a process called "Mutual Aid," Heggie says Cal Fire sent three strike teams, consisting of 15 engines, to help around the state. That leaves 32 engines in San Diego. Heggie says those engines are placed around the county ready to pounce on any fires that spring up."The conditions they've seen up there are very similar to what we're seeing right now," says Heggie. But, he added that all time off had been canceled for Cal Fire employees while San Diego is in a Red Flag Warning."Everyone from the Chief down to the firefighters, they're staying in a heightened state of readiness," he says. "We'll never exceed those thresholds to make sure that we have enough adequate resources available for any fire that starts here in San Diego."Cal Fire's ability to respond quickly was put to the test Monday, when a house fire erupted in Ramona. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — A meeting to sell an iPhone ended in a wild chase and getaway in an El Cerrito neighborhood.Surveillance cameras caught the crime along Dayton Street late in the afternoon last Wednesday."My neighbor came to knock on my door. He was agitated and upset," said Maurizio Rios. Rios saw his neighbor right after it happened, and relayed the details to 10news. In the video, his neighbor is seen meeting with a man near the sidewalk. It's the same man who responded to an OfferUp post to sell an iPhone. Not far away stands another man. The neighbor hands the iPhone over for the man to look at, and almost immediately, the man takes off. After he takes off, the other person who had been around the corner runs with him.From another camera angle, the two men are then seen running down the block, with the victim close behind. Moments later, the same men are racing toward a moving car."They jump right into the moving car," said Rios.The victim is still close behind, but he can only watch as the the car makes a right and drives off. The neighbor is breathless and distraught, but he did spot some clues. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A pregnant San Diego County woman found a shocking discovery in her baby’s ultrasound picture: what appears to be a photo of her late father kissing her unborn daughter. Shantel Carrillo, who’s five and a half months pregnant with her second child, had the medical exam Monday at Sharp Grossmont Hospital. She didn’t expect the photograph to go viral. “I didn’t see it; I just posted the original picture online,” said Carrillo. Friends quickly pointed out the ultrasound image resembled a picture of Carrillo’s father Charles, who died in 2016, holding Carrillo’s oldest daughter Myree. Carrillo showed the photo to her stepmother who “broke down, freaking out crying.” For Carrillo, the idea her late father would show love to her child fits his character. “My dad was obsessed with my daughter,” said Carrillo. She added her father was always loud but “he would melt” when he was around Myree.
