Former NFL quarterback Johnny Manziel is slated to take his talents north of the border, as Manziel announced on Saturday he has signed a contract with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the CFL. Manziel has faced challenges both on and off the football field since winning the 2012 Heisman Trophy. In 2016, Manziel was charged with domestic violence. Those charges were later dismissed. Also in 2016, Manziel was suspended for four games for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy.After an impressive collegiate stint at Texas A&M, Manziel's football career quickly flamed out. Manziel hasn't played professional football since 2015, when he was a member of the Cleveland Browns. Over two seasons, Manziel played in 15 games, and threw seven touchdowns and seven interceptions. "I don't want to wait around any more," Manziel said on Saturday. "I want to get on the field and get in the locker room and get a chance to play ball again. This is the best opportunity for me." Manziel said he is grateful for a second chance at professional football. Manziel is expected not to start at quarterback Hamilton, coach June Jones said. He will compete for the backup job behind former Oregon star Jeremiah Masoli. "Johnny is going to be a competitive player in this league," Jones said. "I feel he'll compete and competition makes everyone better."Manziel said he is ready to move forward and has learned from past missteps. "I have learned a lot from the mistakes. I feel like I wouldn't be where I am today on a personal, on a football level, going back into a locker room, if I didn't go through what I went through," Manziel said. "I am back to a point in my life where I am not taking anything for granted."One name mentioned in Manziel's press conference in Hamilton was Doug Flutie. Both Flutie and Manziel won the Heisman Trophy and went to the CFL after initial struggles in the NFL out of college. For the first time in its 30 year history, Universal Orlando's Halloween Horror Nights in Orlando and Hollywood have been canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic.The park posted the news on the Universal Orlando website. "Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood have made the difficult decision to not hold Halloween Horror Nights events this year," officials said in the statement. "Universal Orlando Resort will be focusing exclusively on operating its theme parks for daytime guests, using the enhanced health and safety procedures already in place. Universal Studios Hollywood continues to face ongoing business restrictions and uncertainty around its opening timeframe. We know this decision will disappoint our fans and guests. We are disappointed, too. (WFTX)  -- A Florida woman got creative with spare spray paint and plywood and made a sign to get the power company's attention.“I thought that all of my neighbors would get a huge kick out of it,” said Kynse Agles.She posed for a photo next to her pink sign that reads, “Hot single female seeks sexy lineman to electrify her life.”Just days before she posted the sign outside her Fort Myers home, Agles went under the knife for a kidney transplant. “My hurricane story started with a double organ transplant at Tampa General Hospital,” she said.Agles had to stay in air conditioning in order to avoid complications from her procedure. “I found a place to stay that had electricity and have been jumping from bed to couch,” she said.Then a light bulb went off in her head.“I saw a post on Facebook and I thought it was really funny and I can do it better,” she said. “I just thought maybe if a lineman got to my neighborhood they’ll laugh and hook me up first,” she added.Her sign did catch the attention of linemen. Four 15-year-olds were arrested after leading Metro Nashville Police officers on a chase that ended on Briley Parkway.The teens in the chase involving a stolen car are also under investigation in relation to other recent crimes involving juveniles.On Thursday, officers were on the lookout for the stolen Prius after receiving a tip that wanted 14-year-old Rico Ransom was suspected of being in the vehicle.Ransom has been a fugitive since he allegedly shot and critically wounded a 17-year-old across from Pearl Cohn High School nearly two weeks ago.Officers pursued the teens for 15 minutes after spotting the car at 20th Avenue North & Herman Street. They then deployed spike strips into the path of the Prius finally, which finally caused the vehicle to slow and stop on Briley Parkway. The teens bailed out and ran. Three were quickly arrested and the fourth was arrested while hiding in a neighborhood on W. Vailview Court.The Prius was stolen on the morning of February 20 on Neal Terrace.Officers continue in their efforts to locate Rico Ransom.
