"That puts us all at risk of having an outbreak of that illness when we get back together again."According to the World Health Organization, at least 93% of the population needs to get the measles vaccine to reach herd immunity.Researchers have found that vaccine rates have dropped as low as 70% in some places in Ohio, which raises concern for a potential measles outbreak.Typically, kids follow a type of "vaccine schedule" throughout their childhood. But many families have put vaccines for their children off amid the COVID-19 pandemic.Doctors say it's not too late to get those shots."If you're delayed in getting the measles vaccine, that's OK," Bode said. "Still come in and get it because it will protect you from the day you start to get it. So really, the only consequence would be that time that you are unprotected."Anyone who is uncomfortable about stepping into a doctor's office should know that efforts are in place to make it a safe space for everyone. EL CAJON, Calif. (KGTV) - The San Diego Sheriff’s Office is investigating how several pounds of narcotics wound up magnetized to a man’s truck.A Mexican citizen who lives in Tijuana but works in El Cajon noticed a strange object in his fender Thursday morning and called authorities.Deputies found 4 packages containing roughly 5 pounds of narcotics hidden underneath the man’s pickup truck.The man’s next door neighbor informed them that they had seen men tampering with the victim’s truck overnight.“It’s our feeling that someone targeted this car because he could cross the border every day with the SENTRI pass and they were probably waiting to collect the narcotics later today,” said Sgt. Tim Chantler of the Sheriff’s office.Drivers with a SENTRI pass can travel in establishes dedicated commuter lanes to and cross the border faster after applying and being prescreened. Deputies are awaiting test results for the drugs but suspect either meth, heroin, or fentanyl.The driver is not considered a suspect as he called 911, according to authorities. “I would be checking my vehicle every day before I cross the border” said Sgt. Drivers in New Orleans are claiming that they have been issued speeding tickets, even though their cars are in park, thanks to a speed camera operating in the city, WWL-TV reported. Donald Schulz told WWL that he has been issued speeding citations 10 or 11 times while his car remained parked. The camera, which is designed to ticket speeders, captured Schulz's license plate, instead of the car passing by Schulz's car. Schulz has had to make frequent stops at New Orleans City Hall to fight citations, causing him a headache and time wasted. "Whoever is responsible for reviewing these violations is not doing their job," Schulz told WWL.According to Fox News, the citations range from to 0.  City officials told WWL that a contractor is to blame, and that the contractor will train its employee how to properly issue citations.  906

Dr. Deborah Birx, the White House coronavirus response coordinator, said on Wednesday that several states should consider moving back to Phase 1 in reopening due to increased coronavirus activity.Dr. Birx pointed to Arizona, Texas, California and Florida as states that are seeing a high prevalence of the coronavirus. This comes as intensive care units in Arizona and Florida are reaching capacity.Amid her pleas to the American people, she encouraged everyone to avoid participating in indoor gatherings, and dine outside rather than inside.“I think the work that these governors have done to — and ask the American people is it’s stop going to bars, to close the bars, to move to outdoor dining, to decrease indoor — any kind of indoor gatherings again,” Dr. Birx said. “To all of the Americans out there that are in these four states and the states that have — in the report, were in the red zone — because there’s a series of other states that we have in that zone — is really asking the American people in those counties and in those states — in those states to not only use the face coverings — not going to bars, not going to indoor dining — but really not gathering in homes either and decreasing those gatherings back down to our phase one recommendation, which was 10 or less.”During Thursday’s news conference with the White House’s coronavirus task force, Vice President Mike Pence said he believes the virus could be reaching its peak in hard-hit Arizona and Florida.“We’re actually seeing early indications of a percent of positive testing flattening in Arizona and Florida and Texas,” Pence said. “Governors in each of those states have taken strong steps to flatten the curve.”But data from Johns Hopkins University suggests the positivity rate is still going up. EL CAJON, Calif. (KGTV) -- Five people were taken to the hospital Tuesday afternoon after reportedly falling ill at an El Cajon animal hospital.The incident was reported at around 1:40 p.m. at the Care & Comfort Veterinary Hospital on 522 E Chase Ave.According to Heartland Fire officials, five adults and two children inside the hospital reported not feeling well.Responding emergency crews conducted tests on the adults and children, and they found the seven people had elevated levels of carbon monoxide in their systems.The adults were transported, but the two children -- for reasons unknown -- were not taken to the hospital.Fire officials said a hazardous materials team and county health officials tested the air in the building but could not locate the source of the carbon monoxide.Meanwhile, officials advised owners to pick up their pets from the hospital out of an abundance of caution. 911
