SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A parolee suspected of sexually trafficking a 15- year-old runaway was arrested Wednesday in Sorrento Valley.Joseph Price, 23, was taken into custody in the 9800 block of Pacific Heights Boulevard in San Diego about 9:45 a.m., according to sheriff's officials.Earlier in the morning, detectives contacted the alleged victim and returned her to her home, Sgt. Chase Chiappino said.Price was booked into county jail solely on suspicion of violating conditions of his parole, but sex-trafficking charges are expected to be filed against him, the sergeant said.Details about Price's purported victimization of the girl -- allegations that arose from an investigation by juvenile-services officers and the San Diego Human Trafficking Task Force -- were not immediately available. 800

SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A thief armed with a pistol robbed an 18-year-old San Diego State University student near the southern outskirts of the college campus early Thursday.The victim was walking in the 5500 block of Montezuma Road when the robber confronted him about 12:45 a.m., according to SDSU police.After stealing the student's wallet, the bandit fled to a waiting white Toyota Prius and was driven out of the area by an accomplice. No injuriesor gunfire were reported.The robber was described as a thin, roughly 5-foot-10-inch black man in his late teens or early 20s, wearing black pants and a white shirt. SAN DIEGO (CNS) - Alliance of American Football team the San Diego Fleet will host a community drive Monday to collect donations of food, blood and necessities like clothes and soap.The event is the Fleet's first-ever donation drive since beginning play in the AAF in February. Donations made at the event will benefit the San Diego Blood Bank, the Alpha Project and the San Diego Food Bank. SAN DIEGO (CNS) - Mayor Kevin Faulconer announced today that all city-owned property along the San Diego River has been cleaned at least once. The city owns roughly one-third of riverfront property, and employees have removed nearly 99 tons of debris from 32 locations since last September, he said.Faulconer said the cleanup will continue, particularly in regard to outreach and coordination with owners of the remaining two-thirds of land along the river."The San Diego River is one of our most precious natural resources and we must continue to give it the care and attention it deserves," Faulconer said. "While we've cleared all of the city's property once, we still have a lot more work to do, so we're encouraging every property owner next to the river to join our cleanup efforts and help preserve the San Diego River for future generations."City employees have sent letters to 33 private property owners,including several businesses, that collectively own another third of riverfront property. Eight owners have allowed city employees to clean their property.Those who reject city services must clean their property or face fines ranging from 0 to ,000, according to the mayor's office.The remaining third of riverfront property is owned by a nonprofit and various government agencies, including the Metropolitan Transit System,Caltrans, San Diego River Park Foundation, California Department of Fish &Wildlife, U.S. Postal Service and County of San Diego.Rob Hutsel, president and CEO of the San Diego River Park Foundation,lauded city efforts to clean riverfront property."Since this effort began, we have seen a dramatic difference along the river in the city," Hutsel said.
