(KGTV) — Disneyland's "Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge" expansion will host the park's most complex attraction ever — and possibly at any theme park.During Star Wars Celebration this weekend in Chicago, Disney's Imagineering team dished on "Galaxy's Edge" attractions and the creation of the land. Part of that came a few tidbits regarding the second highly-anticipated ride coming this year: "Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance."RELATED: The rides, foods, toys you'll get to enjoy at Disneyland's 'Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge'"This is the biggest attraction we’ve ever built," Scott Trowbridge, Portfolio Creative Executive at Walt Disney Imagineering, said during the presentation. "It should be epic, because, Star Wars, right? That’s why we’re going big with this attraction."A trailer teasing the attraction was played for the Chicago audience showing various scenes from "Rise of the Resistance," images Trowbridge said were captured directly from inside the attraction.“It is the biggest, it is one of the most complex attraction experiences that we or anyone else has ever built," Trowbridge said.RELATED: Disney's Star Wars land: The good, the bad — and no Fast Passes?"Rise of the Resistance" pits riders smack dab inside a First Order Star Destroyer, as they try to escape a fleet of Stormtroopers and Kylo Ren himself. Guests journey through the attraction on a trackless vehicle, meeting Rey (actress Daisy Ridley), Finn (actor John Boyega), and Poe (actor Oscar Isaac) along the way. There are even life-size recreations of Poe Dameron's X-Wing and A-Wing fighters and TIE fighters.Imagineers also revealed custom bottles of Coca-Cola, Diet Coke, Sprite and Dasani coming to the "Star Wars" land, fashioned into a droid-like shape and covered in Aurebesh, a fictional language used in the film franchise. "Galaxy's Edge" opens at Disneyland to the public on May 31 and on August 29 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Florida. 1934

(CNN) -- President Donald Trump announced Friday that he will "temporarily hold off" designating Mexican drug cartels as terrorist organizations as he said he would last week. "All necessary work has been completed to declare Mexican Cartels terrorist organizations. Statutorily we are ready to do so," the President tweeted. But Trump said he would hold off the designation at the request of Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, who he called "a man who I like and respect, and has worked so well with us."RELATED: Death toll put at 19 for Mexico cartel attack near US borderMarcelo Ebrard, the country's foreign minister, thanked Trump via his Twitter account for postponing the designation. CNN has reached out to López Obrador's office for comment. He wrote that the US and Mexico would "step up our joint efforts to deal decisively with these vicious and ever-growing organizations!"Designating cartels as foreign terrorist organizations could lead to tougher financial penalties and legal ramifications in the US against those involved.RELATED: Mexico's security strategy called into question after Mormon killings and other violenceTrump told conservative radio host Bill O'Reilly last week that he would "absolutely" designate the cartels and "start hitting them with drones and things like that.""I don't want to say what I'm going to do, but they will be designated," Trump said, adding that the US had offered the Mexican government "to let us go in and clean it out and (the President of Mexico) so far has rejected the offer. But at some point, something has to be done."The President did not specify last week which cartels would be targeted. He said designating cartels would be justified over "losing 100,000 people a year" from drugs coming into the US and human trafficking. 1808

(KGTV) -- If you grew up in San Diego, you've probably heard of, visited or passed by the Living Coast Discovery Center off Interstate 5 in the South Bay."We focus on local wildlife so we have species have like Tido, the barn owl here, reptiles, sea turtles and aquatic species," said Rachel Harper, LCDC's marketing and communications manager. For over three decades, the facility educated communities, students and families about wildlife and protecting the planet."The animals are the hook but we’re talking about sustainability and zero waste. Those things and how we can make not just our planet, but our backyard in San Diego more sustainable for everyone and that includes compost workshops and those sort of things," Harper said.Since the pandemic forced them to close in March, their animals and their mission faced uncertainty. They couldn't open because half of their facility is indoors."This is certainly a worrisome time for a lot of organizations that rely on general admissions and school revenue," said Harper. They've hosted animal encounters and workshops since March but it wasn't enough."We act as a home for them so it's important we remain open for their sake but also so we can continue to fulfill our mission of connecting San Diegans with our local wildlife," Harper said. The center needed to raise 0,000 to fund projects like their breed and re-release program, and continue research on threatened species. They asked the public they've served to help with donations or register for online programming. 1537
