(KGTV) -- The search for a woman who owns a flower shop in Rancho Santa Fe has ended Monday night after authorities say Penelope Elizabeth Bax was found alive.Bax’s sister said she was spotted in Hirz Bay, a campground off of Lake Shasta, which has 6,200 miles of rivers and streams.Her sister says she thinks Bax ran out of gas in her Mercedes RV and her cell phone was dead.Bax was found dehydrated but stable and was airlifted to a local hospital. Her dog Walter is also being treated.The search for the 63-year-old began on March 31 after deputies with the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office learned that Bax was traveling to a family member’s home in Washington but hadn’t arrived yet.According to deputies, Bax left Vista on March 26. She was expected to arrive in Washington on March 29 but never showed up. 845

(KGTV) - The Solana Beach City Council is the latest local government body to take up the gun control debate in the wake of recent mass shootings.On Wednesday night, the council passed Resolution 2018-036, which calls upon California Congressmen and women to pass gun safety regulations.Included in the resolution is official opposition to the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act of 2017, currently making its way through Congress.That bill would force states to honor Concealed Carry Permits from other states, regardless of how strict or relaxed each state's regulations are.Other parts of the Solana Beach resolution call for:- Raising the minimum age to buy a gun to 21- Banning the sale of military-style semiautomatic and automatic weapons- Banning the sale of high capacity magazines that hold more than 10 cartridges- Universal background checks- Mandatory safety training before buying a gun- A 10-day waiting period before taking possession of a gunYou can read the full text of the resolution here.The resolution makes Solana Beach the second city council in San Diego County to take up the issue. (KGTV) -- A mother in Simi Valley found Oxycodone and Xanax among her child’s Halloween candy following a “trunk or treat” event, according to the Simi Valley Police Department.The woman told police she took her kids to the event after seeing a post about it on Facebook.“When the family returned to their residence, the parent dumped her children’s candy out on the counter so she could spray it with disinfectant spray as a COVID-19 precaution,” police said.After inspecting the candy, the woman discovered a clear bag that contained blue pills, later identified as Oxycodone, and a white cylinder containing Xanax.The department is still investigating the incident and no suspect information was available as of Sunday morning“We would like to remind parents about the importance of inspecting any candy or edibles their children receive during Halloween events,” police wrote. 908
