The Inspector General released a report on Tuesday that contained photos of severe overcrowding inside two Texas border processing centers. The Inspector General toured the facilities during the week of June 10. In the report, inspectors expressed concern over the safety and health of both agents and detainees. “We are concerned that overcrowding and prolonged detention represent an immediate risk to the health and safety of DHS agents and officers, and to those detained,” the report said. “At the time of our visits, Border Management told us there had already been security incidents among adult males at multiple facilities. The annual Independence Day celebration in Washington, D.C., will be transformed into an event that could cause fireworks among budget hawks. The generally apolitical event has featured a firework show on the National Mall for decades. But this year's event will take on a different look. One difference is President Donald Trump is scheduled to speak at the event. That will require additional security from the Secret Service and National Park Service. The body of 3-year-old Kamille "Cupcake" McKinney was recovered by law enforcement in Alabama on Tuesday, bringing an end to a 10-day search for the girl. Her remains were found inside of a dumpster at a landfill in Birmingham, Alabama, Tuesday evening. Police say she was last seen on the evening of Oct. 12 while attending a party. The police issued an Amber Alert in hopes of finding Kamille.Birmingham Chief of Police Patrick Smith said that warrants will be issued on Wednesday charging Patrick Stallworth and Derick Irisha Brown with kidnapping and capital murder. Both suspects are in police custody. "We believe that this was something they thought about and act upon and they saw an opportunity to take a young child," Smith said. The man suspected of killing 20 people and injuring 26 others in El Paso on Saturday may face hate crime and capital murder charges, officials said.Police say a document they believe was written by the 21-year-old white male suspect has a "nexus to a potential hate crime."The four-page document posted online espouses white nationalist and racist views. It rails against immigrants and Hispanics, blaming immigrants and first-generation Americans for taking away jobs and for the blending of cultures in the US."Right now, we have a manifesto from this individual that indicates to some degree he has a nexus to a potential hate crime," El Paso Police Chief Greg Allen said at a press conference.FBI El Paso Special Agent in Charge Emmerson Buie said more investigation is needed before determining that the mass shooting was a hate crime."Right now, it is a murder investigation," Buie said.
