Gavin Newsom has admitted that he should not have attended a birthday dinner with a dozen people, as critics slammed the move as hypocritical.Newsom attended an outdoor dinner at The French Laundry in Napa County on Nov. 6, according to the Associated Press. The party, which included 12 people including Newsom and his wife, was held to celebrate the 50th birthday of the governor's political adviser Jason Kinney.In a statement to The San Francisco Chronicle, which first reported on the party, Newsom said he should have set a better example as many Californians battle virus-fatigue amid an increase in coronavirus cases.California prohibits indoor or outdoor gatherings of more than three households as part of its COVID-19 guidance.Monday, Gov. (KGTV) - An 18-year-old San Diego woman died and her 16-year-old cousin and a man were injured in a crash on Interstate 10 on the way to the Coachella Music Festival in Indio, a friend told 10News.Federico Pedrazzini confirmed Ginevra Gallone-Latte died in the crash in Banning early Thursday morning. Her cousin Manuela was injured.The California Highway Patrol said 21-year-old Cesar Hernandezozuna was speeding when his BMW drifted onto the dirt shoulder. The driver tried to get back onto the freeway but went over an embankment and hit two trees, officers said.The crash split the car in two. Gallone-Latte was thrown and died at the scene, according to the CHP.Her cousin was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. Hernandezozuna suffered a facial injury, according to the CHP.Both teens had previously attended La Jolla High School.Officers ruled out alcohol and drugs as contributing factors in the crash but had not determined the cause, the CHP said. 979

(KGTV) — A San Diego woman’s mother who disappeared in Zion National Park nearly two weeks ago has been found alive, according to her family.Holly Courtier, 38, was last seen entering the Utah park on Oct. 6, before she was reported missing by her family.The National Park Service said search and rescue teams located Courtier on Sunday after receiving, "a credible tip from a park visitor that they had seen Courtier within the park."RELATED: San Diego woman’s mother missing in Zion National Park 506
