The Federal Aviation Administration will begin its own investigation of a deadly plane crash at an airport in Addison, Texas, in which a private plane crashed into a hangar Sunday killing all 10 people aboard, the FAA said in a statement.Addison spokesman Ed Martelle told CNN that the private plane was leaving the airport when it veered into the hangar before bursting into flames Sunday morning shortly after 9 a.m. local time.National Transportation Safety Board Chairman Bruce Landsberg told reporters during a news conference Sunday night that two victims were members of the flight crew and the other eight were passengers on the Beechcraft Super King Air 350 aircraft.The victims have not yet been identified as authorities are still notifying their families, Landsberg said.Members of the NTSB arrived on the scene to investigate the crash Sunday afternoon and began assessing the damage to the plane immediately, Jennifer Rodi, senior air safety investigator with the NTSB, told reporters.The plane suffered damage from the force of the impact and the fire that broke out after the crash, Rodi said.Rodi said the NTSB is aware of three videos of the incident and is currently reviewing them. The number of foreign students coming to U.S. colleges and universities continued to fall last year, according to a new report, but the Trump administration says the drop should be blamed on high tuition costs and not students’ concerns over the nation’s political atmosphere.An annual report from the Institute of International Education found that the number of newly enrolled international students dipped by 1% in fall 2018 compared to the year before. It follows decreases of 7% and 3% in the previous two years, which were the first downturns in more than a decade.The downturn is a worry for universities that have come to rely on tuition from foreign students, who are typically charged higher rates. Some schools have blamed President Donald Trump’s rhetoric against immigrants for driving students away, but officials at the State Department, which pays for the annual report, dismissed the idea.Caroline Casagrande, deputy assistant secretary for academic programs at the department’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, said students are deterred by the high cost to attend U.S. schools. She said the downturn is tied to students who were applying to college during the Obama administration, and that the numbers appear to be rebounding under Trump.“What we’ve seen today is a dramatically better picture compared to last year’s declines,” Casagrande said during a call with reporters. “The Trump administration has dedicated more resources than ever to international student mobility.”While fewer new students are coming, the study found that more are staying for professional training after they graduate. The family of the Dayton, Ohio, shooter published glowing obituaries of both the gunman and one of the first casualties in the massacre -- his younger sister, 22-year-old Megan Betts.The obituaries were published Tuesday on the website for the Conner & Koch Life Celebration Home in Bellbrook, Ohio, but the remembrance for gunman Connor Betts was removed Wednesday at the family's request, according to the funeral home.Connor Betts' parents later updated the message on their son's obituary page."Stephen and Moira Betts apologize that the wording of the obituary for their son Connor was insensitive in not acknowledging the terrible tragedy that he created," the message said. "In their grief, they presented the son that they knew which in no way reduces the horror of his last act. We are deeply sorry."The obituary for Betts, who was killed by police after he took nine lives in the August 4 mass shooting, was shorter than his sister's.
