Red Sox pitcher Eduardo Rodriguez is done for the season, following complications from a condition he suffered from the coronavirus. He was diagnosed in early July with the coronavirus.He was set to return to the team by mid-month, however a health screening discovered a heart condition that will sideline Rodriguez for the 2020 season. Rodriguez is 27 years old.The condition is called myocarditis, when the heart becomes inflamed. Inflammation of the heart muscle was recently identified in two studies looking at lingering health effects in coronavirus survivors.Rodriguez did not experience chest pain or any symptoms, according to multiple media outlets.The condition was revealed during an MRI to check his heart following COVID-19.He said the experience was eye opening, but that having a mother who is a nurse has helped put his mind at ease.“The heart is the most important part of your body, so when you hear that — the first time that I heard it — I was kind of scared,” Rodriguez told Mass Live on July 26. “Now that I know what it is, it’s still scary, but now I know exactly what it is. Just talk to my mom, talk to my wife, they know what I have and everything. Now we just gotta take the rest. That’s hard, but you gotta take a rest.''According to the Mayo Clinic, “Myocarditis is an inflammation of the heart muscle (myocardium). Myocarditis can affect your heart muscle and your heart’s electrical system, reducing your heart’s ability to pump and causing rapid or abnormal heart rhythms (arrhythmias).”Rodriguez’s doctors told him that 10-20% of people who have had COVID-19 also have been diagnosed with myocarditis, according to the Associated Press.Rodriguez previously said that his bout with the coronavirus had left him feeling “100 years old” and that it took him about 10 days before he was able to do any light throwing.He said he’s currently not experiencing any COVID-19-related symptoms. 1927

PROVO, Utah - Things were far from the "friendly skies" on a flight to Provo over the weekend when a fight broke out after a passenger refused to wear a mask.Rylie Lansford shared a video of the altercation that occurred just moments after she boarded the Allegiant flight from Mesa, Arizona, to Provo, Utah, on SaturdayLansford says the fight started after a flight attendant asked a man who had already boarded to wear a face mask that covered his mouth and nose. However, Lansford said the second man continued on a tirade and threatened the original man.At that point, with the flight ready to depart, security was called in to remove the man who refused to wear a mask.As the man got up to be escorted out, Lansford believes he took a punch at the second passenger. A brief physical scuffle occurred and Lansford ran to the front of the plane.Lansford says the flight crew handled the entire situation really well.While the original man was escorted off, the second passenger was not removed from the plane despite his participation in the fight.When contacted by FOX 13, Allegiant reiterated its position on wearing face masks on flights."Face coverings must be made of solid material, fully cover the mouth and nose, fit snugly against the face, and be secured under the chin. Prohibited coverings include those with exhalation valves, holes (such as lace or mesh), neck gaiters, and bandanas. Face shields may be worn in addition to a face covering, but not as an alternative."The flight eventually departed and arrived in Provo without any further incident.According to Mesa Police, 52-year-old Rio James Honaker was charged with disorderly conduct. RAMONA (KGTV)- Myrtle the coyote is recovering at The Fund for the Animals Wildlife Center in Ramona, after the Rancho Bernardo neighborhood came together to help.Katie Ryan has been watching Myrtle the coyote for years, and sounded the alarm when she first saw the new mother ensnared in a pipe. Katie guessed Myrtle was trying to capture a small animal that hid in the pipe and she got stuck. It took five weeks of constant phone calls, prayers and sleepless nights looking after Myrtle before she could get a trapper to catch the elusive coyote."I can't even describe I was crying and laughing all at the same time," Ryan said, her smile wide. She enlisted neighbors to block off the area, after a failed attempt Monday night due to a man trying to approach Myrtle and scaring her off.Neighbors said they guarded the neighborhood for hours Tuesday evening, going home with no hope. Then, a few minutes later, Myrtle followed a trail of rotisserie chicken and was caught in a trap around 8:30p.m.The Fund for the Animals Wildlife Center picked up the coyote that night and sent this statement. 1118
