The Federal Bureau of Investigation has asked the public’s help in identifying members of a female gang who have been spotted in Middle Tennessee.  The FBI said Felony Lane Gang members use rental cars with tinted windows to watch you and your car in parking lots at gyms, daycares or anywhere someone might leave a purse in a car.They have been spotted in Nashville, Mt. Juliet, Gallatin and several other towns around the Metro area.When they see an opportunity, they'll swipe IDs, credit cards and checkbooks. Then, they hand all of that over to prostitutes and drug users they recruit to impersonate victims.Those women take stolen checks and IDs to multiple banks to withdraw large amounts of money -- all before the victims have a chance to close their accounts.According to authorities, they use the farthest window from the teller in bank drive-thru lanes. This drive-thru lane is commonly known as the "felony lane," which is what inspired their nickname.Investigators said they’re known to use wigs and other disguises to impersonate their victims at banks. The Florida State Senate passed a bill Monday that would raise the age to buy a firearm from 18 to 21, require a three-day waiting period for most gun purchases and ban the sale or possession of bump fire stocks, which can make it easier for a semi-automatic weapon to function like an automatic rifle.The "Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School Public Safety Act" (SB 7026) would also give law enforcement more power to seize weapons and ammunition from those deemed mentally unfit or otherwise a threat and provide additional funding for armed school resource officers and for mental health services.The Senate measure comes more than two weeks after a gunman killed 17 students and teachers at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. Stoneman Douglas students and parents have lobbied lawmakers to pass stricter gun control measures.The bill now moves to the Florida House. It's not immediately clear when the House will take up the measure. 948

The crude oil crash just got worse.US oil prices plummeted nearly 7% on Tuesday to .43 a barrel. That marks the cheapest closing price since late October 2017.The latest deep selloff coincided with more mayhem on Wall Street. The Dow shed more than 600 points on Tuesday as fears about slowing earnings and economic growth deepen."In times of crises, all assets correlate," said Matt Smith, director of commodity research at ClipperData. "Crude has gotten caught up in the flight from equities."In the span of just seven weeks, crude has gone from spiking to nosediving into a bear market. Fears of a new supply glut and weakening demand have wiped out 30% of its value since hitting a four-year high of a barrel in early October.Crude has sold off by about 7% twice in the past week. The November 13 decline of 7.1% was the worst in three years.Beyond the stock market tumble, energy analysts saw few new reasons for the energy plunge."Oil traders are overwhelmed by bearish news," said Clay Seigle, managing director of oil at Genscape. "The broad selloff in equities has traders concerned about the possibility of an economic slowdown, which could reduce demand for oil products."One new development may have also helped weigh on oil prices.
