Would you have surgery performed if it was done by a robot? Robotic surgery is now an option at more hospitals across the country.Patient Matthew Canino says the technology helped his heart.“The nature of being a SWAT officer can be very taxing on your body,” Canino says. “So, you have to be in very good physical condition.”But when Canino trained, he noticed something was off.“My heart would race, primarily when I was working out, it would race,” Canino remembers. “And I'd get short of breath. And I kind of I would just stop what I was doing, and it would go away, and I thought everything was fine.”But it wasn’t. Canino’s doctors found out a valve in his heart was leaking.“He said if it wasn't repaired it would continue to get worse and would likely lead to heart failure,” Canino recalls.He thought he’d have to get open heart surgery. However, his doctor recommended a robot instead.“We can get inside the heart through these keyhole incisions on the side of the chest, without cutting through any bones,” says Dr. Sanjay Tripathi, cardiothoracic surgeon at Swedish Medical Center.Dr. Tripathi inserted this camera and robotic arms inside Canino’s chest, and then he sat down at a console inside the operating room where he controlled the robot to do the surgery.“With the robotic technology, particularly 3D high definition imaging from the camera, we're able to see these fine details that would otherwise be a little bit more difficult,” Dr. Tripathi says.Swedish Medical Center is the only hospital in Colorado offering cardiothoracic surgeries with the aid of a surgical robot. But they’re becoming available at more hospitals around the country, and patients are seeing big benefits.“Less pain,” Dr. Tripathi says. “Faster recovery, less bleeding, fewer infections.”“By the third day I was almost completely pain free and needed no pain medication at all,” Canino says.Not all heart surgeries can be done robotically, but the hope is as technology advances, that will change. 2006

Republican Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger certified the state’s election results on Friday. Those results showed Biden beat Trump by 12,670 votes out of about 5 million cast. Republican Gov. Brian Kemp then certified the state’s slate of 16 presidential electors. The Trump campaign sent a hand-delivered letter on Saturday to the secretary of state’s office requesting the recount after an election fraught with unfounded accusations of fraud by Trump and his supporters. 683

The company sent a letter to Posare salon, threatening to sue the owner if she didn't silence Toni or fire her.  As for consumers, Grabowski says, "Everyone is entitled to their opinion. By the way, there is not a constitutional right to complain about a company. A company has a right to respond any way it wants to." The Federal Trade Commission's Consumer Review Fairness Act "Protects consumers' ability to share their honest opinions about a business' products, services or conduct in any forum, including social media."  But that's not enough. This request for a restraining order against Monat was filed March 7 in South Florida, asking a court to protect consumers against Monat's "Threats, harassment and intimidation."Monat says one stylist has agreed to pay them to settle its claims against her.  Miller is still fighting.  Monat sent this statement for consumers: "If a consumer feels that he or she is having a negative reaction to MONAT products, we encourage them to speak with their Market Partner to obtain an intake form. She talks to schools and parents about navigating the social media world for students and what parents should talk to their kids about the content they post.“Kids are spending more time online,” Glickman said. There’s no way around it with-- with phones, computers, and remote learning“You’re putting something out there not thinking about the future and how it will affect you that’s the teen or preteen brain, Glickman said."I post then maybe I think.”Thinking about what you post now is important for kid’s futures.Writing an offensive message, cyberbullying a classmate, or posting an inappropriate picture to social media-- it's out there for the public to see.“Don’t believe that delete means delete...and think about it, is that something you want your name associated with?"
