YAOUNDE, Jan. 15 (Xinhua) -- Visiting Chinese Vice Premier Hui Liangyu has agreed with Cameroon's President Paul Biya during a meeting here on Thursday that the two countries should expand cooperation and further promote bilateral relations.During their meeting, Hui said since the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Cameroon 40 years ago, the two countries have treated each other equally, friendly and with mutual trust. BEIJING, Dec. 6 (Xinhua) -- A senior official of China's National Energy Administration (NEA) encouraged Chinese firms to invest in the renewable energy market of the United States to boost their competitiveness in the international market.The statement was made by Wang Jun, head of the department of new energy and renewable energy at the NEA, during the wind power section at the China-US Renewable Energy Investment Forum, also attended by officials from the U.S. Department of Energy and the Department of Commerce."While a number of U.S. companies are establishing firms manufacturing wind turbines, bearings and current converters, thus making China an important part of their global business, the U.S. wind power market remains relatively unknown to Chinese firms," said Wang.He noted that the U.S. wind power market has great potential but is short of funding in the wake of the international financial crisis. BEIJING, Nov. 26 (Xinhua) - China on Friday called for a settlement to the territorial dispute between Israel and the Arab countries through negotiations.Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Hong Lei made the remarks while commenting on an Israeli bill that had been passed by the Israeli Knesset (parliament) Monday. The bill demands a referendum should any Israeli government make territorial concessions in East Jerusalem to the Palestinians or in the Golan Heights to Syria.Since the aftermath of the 1967 war, Israeli law requires a two-thirds majority of consent by the Israeli public when handing over territories to Palestine and Syria.However, the law goes against the spirit of United Nations (UN) resolutions and cannot change the fact that East Jerusalem and the Golan Heights are occupied lands of the Arab countries, Hong said."China calls on Israel to follow the relevant UN resolutions as well as the established principles of international laws to properly settle the territorial dispute through negotiations for the realization of a comprehensive, and lasting peace in the Middle East," said Hong.

BEIJING, Dec. 3 (Xinhua) -- China's central government pledged on Friday to support the northeastern region by boosting its development of modern agriculture.A guideline, mapped out by the National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Agriculture, was publicized by the General Office of the State Council, or cabinet, on the central government' s official website www.gov.cn.The guideline expects the region to harvest more than 100 million tonnes of grain annually by 2015.Northeastern China should catch up with developed countries in terms of land output rates and labor production rates, according to the guideline.The northeastern region in the guideline refers to Liaoning, Jilin, Heilongjiang Provinces and the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.
