It hurts to breathe. It hurts to sleep. It hurts to move from side to side. It hurts to eat.Blake remains paralyzed from the waist down.“Your legs, something that you need to move around and move forward in life, can be taken from you like this,” said Blake.Still, despite his pain, Blake seemed optimistic about the future.“There’s a lot more life to live out here, man,” he said.At the end of the video, Blake urged his supporters to keep fighting.“Please, I’m telling you, change your lives out there, we can stick together, make some money, make everything easier for our people out here man, cause there’s so much time that has been wasted,” he said.Blake’s attorney, Ben Crump, claims his client was helping to deescalate a domestic incident when police drew their weapons and Tasered him.“As he was walking away to check on his children, police fired their weapons several times into his back at point blank range,” Crump said in a statement last week, in which he announced he would represent Blake. “Blake’s three sons were only a few feet away and witnessed police shoot their father.”Blake’s video comes a day after his attorneys entered a plea of not guilty during a hearing related to several charges filed against Blake, including sexual conduct and disorderly conduct. The Kenosha County District Attorney's Office says those charges were what Blake was wanted for at the time of the police shooting on Aug. 23.The shooting was captured on camera and received national attention. It was followed by several nights of unrest in Kenosha and other cities across the country as demonstrators continue to protest against police brutality. The officer who shot Blake has been placed on administrative leave as the shooting is investigated. 2405

JULIAN, Calif. (KGTV) - Caltrans will shut down all lanes of State Route 78 in Julian Friday night following a rock and mudslide. The freeway closure, which affects all lanes between Wynola Road and Great Southern Overland Stage Route (S2), may continue into the weekend. The area experienced a slide late Thursday that sent large rocks and debris into lanes. Crews limited traffic to one direction and determined rock scaling was needed to remove any more hazards. Residents will be allowed access through closures when conditions are safe, Caltrans said. Job searching amid the COVID-19 pandemic has proved tough for many. Businesses are either halting hiring or laying off employees. Some job-seekers, though, are finding a number of openings that essentially didn't exist before the pandemic."The pandemic's created a paramount shift in how companies are approaching safety for their employees and for their customers and so that’s led to a number of jobs that you didn’t really see much of before," says Patrick Beharelle, the CEO of recruiting company TrueBlue. He says a number of never-before-seen job openings are entering the market, including temperature checkers, disinfecting cleaning services and many more."Reconfiguration specialists. These are folks that are restructuring facilities for more social distancing, so wider aisles, as an example. Decontamination technicians. These are folks that are cleaning masks and PPE for healthcare workers and so these are positions you just didn’t see a lot of before," says Beharelle. Some of the positions, such as temperature checkers, are likely part-time or temporary."And then there's positions like contact tracers. Really, those didn't exist at all before and these are positions where folks work out of their homes and essentially are call center-type employees. They make anywhere from to an hour doing contact tracing," says Beharelle.At-home tech support is an in-demand field right now with openings.“There are virtual event planners, or people who help organizers change events that were supposed to be done in person into online virtual events," says Julia Pollak, with Zip Recruiter. Pollak says the job industry is also helping some entrepreneurs and small businesses who've turned to making face masks."I think these jobs will be around for a quite a long time, until we have a vaccine. And even then, a vaccine is not a magic bullet. We have many, many diseases that have not been eradicated even though we have a vaccine," says Pollak. 1969
