NEW YORK, N.Y. – Rush Limbaugh provided an update on his "roller coaster" battle with lung cancer Monday, saying a recent scan showed “some progression” and that it’s “in the wrong direction.”The conservative talk radio host has been seeking treatment since he announced in February that he was diagnosed with advanced lung cancer.In a statement posted on his website, Limbaugh said his scans had previously shown that his treatments had “rendered the cancer dormant,” meaning they had stopped the growth of the cancer.“It had been reduced, and it had become manageable,” he said.Limbaugh said he has stage 4 lung cancer and that his team has adjusted his chemotherapy drugs with hopes of keeping additional progression at bay as long as possible.“The idea now is to keep it where it is or maybe have it reduce again. We’ve shown that that is possible. If it happened once, it can happen again,” he said. “So that’s the objective of the current treatment plan.”Limbaugh did address that his cancer is likely terminal.“It’s tough to realize that the days where I do not think I’m under a death sentence are over. The bail arguments on behalf of Ghislaine Maxwell were filed late Monday in Manhattan federal court. According to the Associated Press, Maxwell and her husband offered .5 million as part of the bail package, which consists of three homes, a bond secured by million in property, and 0,000 cash.Maxwell is scheduled to face a July trial on charges that she recruited three teenage girls for Epstein to abuse in the mid-1990s. Her first attempt at bail shortly after her July arrest was rejected. Her lawyers say she wants nothing more than to remain in the United States and fight the charges. Netflix unveiled a new logo on Monday, and while the changes may not seem visible at first glance, the company says the change will save them millions of dollars.That's because the company's new logo is written in a custom-made typeface, a font that Netflix will be using across it's platform and brand identity.The font, called "Netflix sans," was developed in-house at Netflix and designed in partnership with fount foundry Dalton Maag.Previously, Netflix was using a "Gotham" typeface — a font the company was paying to license. New research confirms that temperature and symptom checks miss many coronavirus infections. A study published Wednesday found that these measures failed to detect infections in new Marine recruits before they started training, even after several weeks of quarantine. Many recruits had no symptoms yet still spread the virus. Genetic testing revealed six separate clusters of cases among the recruits.The work has implications for colleges, prisons, meatpacking plants and and other places that rely on symptom screening. Doctors say more COVID-19 testing is needed, especially in younger people who often don't develop symptoms.An estimated 20% of coronavirus infections do not result in symptoms. The good news is those who are asymptomatic generally do not spread the virus as easily as those who have symptoms, according to a University of Minnesota study. 868

New gun legislation proposes that anyone who wants to buy a firearm would need to submit their social media profiles and search history for review before buying a gun in New York.Officials would be able to review up to three years worth of search history.The bill was drafted by state Senator Kevin Parker and Brooklyn borough President Eric Adams."There should be more restrictions on how guns are purchased. We should have more background checks," Paul McQuillen, director of the Buffalo chapter of  New Yorkers Against Gun Violence, said.He said that the NYAGC isn't ready to back the bill yet, but he does think it could be beneficial."We’ve obviously seen some of the mass shooters have a social media history that should have sent red flags," he said.It's not going to be easy to pass this kind of bill. James Tresmond, a gun rights lawyer, said it violates multiple constitutional rights."The first, the second amendment, the fifth amendment, the fourth amendment, and the 14th amendment," Tresmond said.The bill still has a way to go before it is passed or denied.
