SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diego Police searched Tuesday for the man who may have groped several women in the South Bay.The most recent encounter happened Sunday at 7:30 p.m. as the woman was walking on Iris Ave. and Oro Vista Rd. in Nestor, police said.A man walking the opposite direction grabbed the woman’s breast, then ran away.The woman wasn’t hurt and told police the man didn’t appear to have a weapon.Police said the man was Hispanic, in his early 20’s, 5’6” tall with a heavy build. He was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt with the hood up, black athletic shorts, and black shoes.The man may be responsible for two similar attacks in the same area, said officers.The first incident happened October 30 at 7:30 pm. and the second was January 17 at 9:30 p.m., both on Oro Vista Rd. near the I-5 and 905 interchange.Anyone with information is asked to call the San Diego Police Department at 619-531-2000. 916

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — San Diego State University officials say two students have tested positive for coronavirus, but that the cases are not connected and the risk to the campus is low.A statement on behalf of the campus said the school confirmed Wednesday the two students had tested positive and that both students live off-campus. The students were tested by the college's Student Health Services.The two cases are not believed to be connected to any reported off-campus gatherings, the school statement said. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — San Diego's Metropolitan Transit System has approved a plan to convert all of the agency's 800 buses to a zero-emission fleet by 2040.The agency will send its plan to the California Air Resources Board for certification. State regulations require public transit agencies to gradually transition to all-zero emission bus fleets by 2040.MTS' plan aims to cut down on greenhouse gas emissions by about 43% over the next 19 years. The cost of the full transition is about 1 million over that same time frame. It will cost about 5 million more to acquire land and build a new facility to accommodate additional electric buses, according to MTS.A "first-in-the-nation" overhead gantry system is also included in the plans to automate charging."MTS has been testing six electric buses in revenue service over the past 10 months and we’ve been very pleased with their performance," said Sharon Cooney, MTS Chief Executive Officer. "The performance data makes us confident that we can make a transition to an entire fleet of zero-emissions buses over the next 19 years, and continue to provide the highest quality of service our passengers expect and deserve."The busses will be rolled out in priority to routes through communities considered by MTS to experience the most negative impacts of greenhouse gas emissions and environmental health. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — SDG&E announced Fire Safe 3.0 innovations to advance wildfire safety at its headquarters in Kearny Mesa Tuesday.It's the power company's plan to use more advanced technologies to improve wildfire safety. Instead of using weather data updated every 10 minutes, they utilize data updated every 30 seconds instead. SDG&E's chief meteorologist explained they're using artificial intelligence-based models that make weather data more accurate and they're monitoring more than 500,000 trees in the area using a "Vegetation Risk Index."It helps determine how those trees might impact power lines or become fuel for fires. SDG&E also announced plans to open a Fire Science and Innovation Lab next year. 734
