Hackers stole information for more than 5 million credit and debit cards used at Saks Fifth Avenue, Saks Off 5th and Lord & Taylor stores.Hudson's Bay Company, which owns the retail chains, confirmed the breach Sunday, and said it has "identified the issue, and has taken steps to contain it.""Once the Company has more clarity around the facts, it will notify customers quickly and will offer those impacted free identity protection services, including credit and web monitoring," Hudson's Bay said in a press release.The company added that the cards were used for in-store purchases, and there is "no indication" online purchases were affected. The "attack is amongst the biggest and most damaging to ever hit retail companies," according to the firm.Gemini Advisory said a hacking syndicate put credit and debit card information it obtained from the hack up for sale on the dark web last week.A "preliminary analysis" found credit card data was obtained for sales dating back to May 2017, according to the post. The breach likely impacted more than 130 Saks and Lord & Taylor locations across the country, but the "majority of stolen credit cards were obtained from New York and New Jersey locations."The hackers were also behind notorious data breaches that affected companies including Whole Foods, Chipotle, Omni Hotels & Resorts and Trump Hotels, Gemini Advisory said. 1589

Food pantries across the country are still seeing a dramatic increase in need.“I hope that we eventually get this thing under control, so we can wean everyone off the need for food pantries and shelters like ours, because this is not sustainable,” said Kim Guadagno, CEO of Fulfill, a New Jersey food bank.Guadagno says her organization has seen an increase in demand of almost 2.5 million meals compared to this time last year.Feeding America says at the peak in April, there was a 70% increase in demand, and it’s sustained around 60% higher.Many food banks say they're seeing many families for the first time.“You can always tell someone who has never been to a food pantry before. They come literally right up to this building in tears, because they’ve never had to ask for help before and it’s crushing to all of us,” said Guadagno.Feeding America expects that increased need will continue during the holidays, which is an important time for food banks.“We see increased awareness around hunger and food insecurity around the holidays. It’s a great time for food banks to fundraise. Garth Brooks has decided it’s someone else’s turn to win the Entertainer of the Year award from the Country Music Association Awards.The announcement came during a Facebook Live on Brooks’ page during a remote press conference.Brooks has won the award seven times."It's time for somebody else to hold the award and know what entertainer of the year feels like," he said.He said after last year’s CMA ceremony, there was one tweet that really stuck with him."It said, 'Why doesn't he step down and have entertainer of the year be for the next generation’. Hackers who were able to take control of at least a dozen high-profile Twitter accounts and tweet messages calling for Bitcoin solicitations gained access to the accounts by targeting Twitter employees, the social media site said Wednesday evening.According to Twitter's support account, the hackers "successfully targeted some of our employees with access to internal systems and tools." They then posted messages seeking Bitcoin solicitations — with a promise to return double the amount — on a series of high-profile Twitter accounts.CNN reports that the Bitcoin wallet included in the tweets is in fact, real and that those conducting the scam have received more than 0,000 in Bitcoin. 700

Garrett Rolfe, the now fired Atlanta Police officer who shot Rayshard Brooks twice late Friday night, has turned himself into the Fulton County (Georgia) Jail on Thursday.Bond has not been set for Rolfe as of Thursday afternoon.Rolfe has been indicted on 11 charges, including murder. Investigators said Rolfe fired two shots at Brooks, resulting in the Brooks’ death.Officer Devin Brosnan has been charged with aggravated assault and several violations of his oath of office. Brosnan was placed on administrative leave late Saturday.As of late Thursday afternoon, Brosnan was no longer in custody after he was released on bond.Brooks died on Friday night after Rolfe shot him in the parking lot of a Wendy’s restaurant.The Georgia Bureau of Investigations said that officers responded to a call of a man who fell asleep behind the wheel in a drive thru. The police accused Brooks of failing a field sobriety test, which prompted the officers to attempt to arrest Brooks.Video of the incident showed that Brooks then struggled with officers over a Taser. As Brooks took off with a Taser in hand, Rolfe fatally shot Brooks.Brooks was transported to the hospital, and he died during surgery. 1197
