China's home appliance sector saw a strong rebound during the second quarter of this year, with total revenue rising by 2.64 percent on a yearly basis to 248.6 billion yuan (.6 billion), on the back of a healthy surge in online e-commerce retail, a new report said.

China's fiscal revenue rose by 4.7 percent during the third quarter of the year on the back of sustained economic recovery and robust industrial output, while government spending is expected to shore up growth in the subsequent months, according to the Ministry of Finance.

China's consumer price index, a main gauge of inflation, rose 3.8 percent year-on-year last month, mainly driven by soaring pork prices. The prices have more than doubled year-on-year in October, contributing nearly two-thirds to the CPI growth.

China's electricity consumption will account for 30 percent and 40 percent of the end-user energy consumption by 2030 and 2050, respectively, according to government plans.

China's economy is tough and robust, and won't be hindered by the epidemic, said Huang Tianzhong, a Chinese-American scholar, who added that he is not pessimistic about further impacts of the epidemic on China's economy. Interviewed by China News Service, Huang said he believes China can minimize the harm.
