SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Two more people have died from the flu in San Diego County, bringing this season’s total to 11, according to County News Center. According to health officials, a 74-year-old man who was vaccinated died from complications from influenza B on December 31. A 64-year-old man also died from complications due to influenza A on January 3. The 64-year-old man hadn’t received his vaccination, according to the county. Overall, flu activity was down last week compared to previous weeks. Last year at this time, 91 people had died from the flu. Flu cases last week fell to 257 from 369 the previous week. Overall, just over 2,000 cases of the flu have been reported so far this season, which fell dramatically from more than 10,300 by this time last year. “It’s not too late in the season to get your flu shot,” said Wilma Wooten, M.D., M.P.H., County public health officer. “Flu activity can last until April or May and the flu vaccine is the best way to protect yourself and others around you from influenza.”The CDC recommends that everyone 6-months-old and older get a flu shot every year. SAN DIEGO (KGTV)- A mother from Sacramento is back in San Diego to search for her missing son, a San Diego State graduate who was living in Pacific Beach.Wesley Billingsly was last heard from on June 12, 2018. He was supposed to meet friends for dinner in Pacific Beach, but never showed up.Since then, there has been no sign of him.He is 5’8”, 130 pounds with hazel eyes and brown hair. He has several tattoos.Christel Billingsly, Wesley’s mother, has spent her days posting fliers, reaching out to people on social media, and keeping up with the San Diego Police missing person’s investigation into her son’s disappearance.“He was here actively driving these streets, going to that Vons to get gas,” she said while standing in a Vons parking lot on Garnet Avenue. “And then he just disappears?”She is offering a ,000 reward to anyone who helps bring her son home.“I know somebody that's reading these posters knows where my son is,” she said. “They need to speak up and tell me where he is because this is enough, it's enough.”Back in August, Christel Billingsley flew to San Diego from Sacramento and spent her son's 25th birthday searching for him.Police located his vehicle in the South Bay but that has been the only trace of him. After that Christel Billingsly made her way to Mexico to search for him.“I went and met with the police in Mexico, I had a translator with me,” she said. “I went and filed a missing report,” she also checked morgues and jails.She said her son had earned a degree in business administration and marketing from SDSU. He moved back home to Sacramento briefly to work and save enough money to return to San Diego.Once he returned, he was staying with different friends at homes in Pacific Beach as he looked for jobs.Christel pays her son’s cellphone bill and said the phone stopped showing any activity once he disappeared. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Whether you're out for the night in the Gaslamp District or heading to a friend's for a NYE soiree, there's plenty of options to get around on Dec. 31 without getting behind the wheel yourself.San Diego MTS is beefing up service on Dec. 31, adding more trolley service through the night and partnering with Lyft to offer ride discounts. Service to accommodate riders to the Holiday Bowl Parade and game are also being offered.With the additional services, some modified schedules will be in place:New Year's Eve (Dec. 31): All trolley lines and most MTS bus routes will operate on normal weekday schedule.Holiday Bowl Parade: Extra Green Line Trolley service between Mission Valley and downtown will begin at 9 a.m. and will continue after the parade. Best access to the parade route are via Sycuan Green Line and UC San Diego Blue Line, MTS says.Holiday Bowl game: Service on Sycuan Green Line will run every 15 minutes throughout the day.
